Ohh, forums does have different criteria and posters in these forums too. In general even U.S vs U.K does have different meaning for a journeyman in general. If for some poster one is a journeyman, for another poster he is a gatekeeper and for another even boxer that still does have chance to get a tittle. Does even these tittles matters so much? I'm interested about your personal criteria regards to a journeyman. ranking, fights record, last fights results and like this , age, notice period before fights, A side or B side guy etc. For example if someone took a fight where he had 40/60 chances to win if this was with 2 months notice AND this guy took this fight with 1 week notice, is he a journeyman or no? I'm very interested in general about your personal criteria what determines a journeyman. Books too does have different opinions about definition of a journeyman. I also interested how you will determine a journeyman from guys used just to fill undercards. I do not have intent to bite you. I'm interested about your own criteria about this.
At least we’re done with the losers bracket. Danny and Porter are good fighter’s don’t get me wrong, but Spence should really start looking to the current elite in his division. Preferably prime; i.e Crawford. Pacquiao is understandable if he can get that first.
Mikey Garcia wouldn't be Crawford's best opponent. P4P wise undefeated Mikey was ranked higher than Bud's opponents, but at welterweight he's just an unproven, short fighter that can fight only 1 style & would lose to most top 147 fighters. Mean Machine was a legit top 10 welterweight for example, Mikey was not. Also, beating undefeated Gamboa at 135 is better than beating undefeated Mikey at 147.
Make the bleeping fight with Crawford and let's find out!!! As poor as you think he is it should be easy pickings for Spence.
TIMELINE OF CRAWFORD VS. SPENCE DEVELOPMENTS: * This content is protected beats Kell Brook, wins IBF title, calls out all top welterweights. * This content is protected announces he's moving up. Checks Spence on his statements. * This content is protected says Crawford needs to get a belt first. * This content is protected knocks out Jeff Horn, gets a belt. * This content is protected ignores calls from Crawford and his trainer Bomac for unification fight. * This content is protected runs up & confronts Spence on Maurice Hooker's fight in Texas. * This content is protected says he wants "easy route in Shawn Porter". * This content is protected & Bomac continue to pressure Spence. Bomac calls out Spence for being drunk & partying. * This content is protected has a car crash, comes back vs. Danny Garcia after Crawford KOs Brook in 4. * This content is protected attends Spence vs. Garcia. * This content is protected says that doesn't help the potential fight. Wants to rest with family then fight XYZ fighters next but NOT Crawford. One guy wants the fight, the other keeps deflecting from it. One guy is supremely confident, the other is not.
Danny called him out before the accident, Pac agreed to fight him after the fight where he didn't show any slippage of skill, only a small stamina issue which is only a result of not being in the ring for so long. Easy fix. So, I don't think that's it because he answered that question.
One guy has an expired contract in 2018 but chose to resign to a multiyear contract with his promoter instead of just going to the other side where all the top fighters are.. he chose to stay at the other side of the fence and bark from there. Its not impossible for a fight to materialize despite having different promoters but if you want a fight to happen you remove barriers not create more. Don't listen to what boxers say, look at they do.
