Yeah it’s a crap undercard, but they could put any fights on and they wouldn’t lose one sale. AJ is king with the casual fans for sure.
Ugh, I hope that trio of doom aren't involved. Of course they will be though - the absolute worst 3 that Sky have. Bellew jumping about as if he and Joshua are great mates.
Disagree, it’s a hurdle no doubt in negotiations, but it’s not that massive. ESPN seemed to be happy enough working with Fox earlier this year, and while obviously DAZN are a different entity who haven’t done a PPV yet, it’s the biggest fight in the world and both platforms will be happy with a joint PPV. I’m not convinced it’s as close to happening as many think it is, but the TV thing won’t delay or stop this fight.
No way will ESPN want to give DAZN any traction in America. To be honest thinking about it how big of a right is this really in America?
Agree with the last line for sure but i think some sales will be hit esp the more dedicated crown who will likely find other means of watching rather than pay However not nearly enough to force change down the line
AJ knocks him out and looks very good doing so IMO. Think he’ll probably get to him in the middle rounds
I can see Joshua dropping Pulev but then the Cobra does a Povetkin and lays the community shopper out cold
NOT COMING! - TYSON FURY RULES HIMSELF OUT FROM ATTENDING ANTHONY JOSHUA v KUBRAT PULEV FIGHT - YouTube
I don't see this as remotely competitive, AJ will run over Pulev with ease. I think it's funny they are all talking up Pulev, just to sell PPV's and make the win look better.
Fury-Joshua is not a huge fight in America. If ESPN and DAZN think it is then they're going to lose money. What was the last huge fight in America that didn't involve an American, Mexican or Pacquiao? If the fight is on in the afternoon, it's certainly not a PPV. If the fight is in America, I'd expect Brits to sell out the gate, but PPV buys would be around 300-400k.
Bit of a shame, would've made for great TV if it had ended in a face off similar to the one with Wilder when Fury was roaring drunk a few years back. The pair of them are already assuming their roles for the fight build up, Joshua being the model professional sportsman and Fury being the 'bad boy'.
Was interesting watching the stare down and separately Pulev at the open workout. No way is he 6”4. I’d have him more at 6”1. He looked very slim and lean at the open workout, a lot lighter than usual. He looks like he’s shaping for a 12 round fight.
