In the ring no way. Outside the ring more than likely.

I remember there was some monstrous bouncer who came on the Footy Show (Weekly Rugby League show here in Australia) and his claim to fame was that he put Tyson's lights out in a street fight, donno how true it is, and if it is true, he would have sucker punched mike in the head.

I realy think it is pathetic when boxers get into streetfights it gives the sport a bad name most dont do it anyway. But then again you have to have a dispoistion givin to violence in some deggre to be a fighter so some do and if they lose and they started it then maybe its what they deserve.

    Size is overrated.

Watch Pros vs Joes, now imagine the Joe not wearing any headgear.

In reality boxing is a competitive sport with laws, and street fighting is a free for all so completly different rules apply when engaged in a ruck.

Eyes, Throat, and Bollocks are the prime targets. The most fulfilling encounter I ever had was kicking a chap's knee out whilst he came at me. If you cant stand up and you have no MMA training your ****ed.

Shannon broke the eye socket of a Univ of Miami linebacker and was sued and paid somewhere around $2 million(US) for potential of lost earnings.

Most street fights don't show skill in any way, its more about raw street smarts.

Most fights end with the first punch, so obviously thats a huge factor. Then theres the sucker-punch, king hit scenarios, which don't prove anything.

Im sure in these instances where boxers get sparked, if they had a good old fashioned 1v1 scrap, they would put these peoples lights out.

Size doesn't mean a lot in a street fight either when your talking about quality boxers because most middleweights would very easily put someones lights out with gloves on with a solid punch.

two thugs had Oscar De La Hoya at gunpoint just before he won his Gold Medal in the Olympics, they took 100 $ of him and that night the money returned up on his doorstep. I guess a reputation can be useful lol.

I remember reading an article in Ring Magazine back in the 80s about Philly bantamweight king Jeff Chandler getting decked in a bar for something. Don't know if he was truly starched or just knocked on his ass for a second.

Apparently shannon taylor (australian guy who fought shane mosley) got into a huge ruckus with a bunch of guys at a newcastle hotel. As the story goes (I think) they started on him and one of his friends so he asked them to step outside and (i believe) put all but one in the hospital.

Any australians remember this story? I know it made the news, thats for sure

:good He's a talented fighter, who portrays himself as a thug and uses his skills as a weapon outside the ring. So you can also call him a bully as well. Didn't he get into it with Busta Rhymes a few years back?
