Yeah but he didn't do much did he? Pulev should have thrown the kitchen sink in round 5 or 6 after he got his legs back under him because it was clear after 3 rounds he wasn't going to win on points

Yep this, Povetkin actually won rounds and tried to take the titles from Joshua, Pulev in contrasts despite all the big talk in the build up just seemed content to survive bide his time and hope to land a lucky right hand, he never really tried to win it, was just waiting for Joshua to do something stupid and throw it away.

 

Pulev would have mummified Povetkin and stuck him in his pyramid tomb.

 

Pulev could've lost in the third round already to be fair. Povetkin is more complex in his style than Pulev.

In direct comparison, due to their age, anything is possible, but I'd favor Povetkin over Pulev.

 

It was clear even before the fight was signed that Pulev wasn't going to win on points.

Pulev's reluctance to attack didn't give AJ a lot of openings. AJ knew Pulev was waiting to stiff him with the jab as he moved in so he had to be patient and break him down round by round.

aJ was a different man back then. he had less fear and trepidation. that version of AJ would have dispatched Pulev in 4, and on the flip side Povetkin would probably extend todays AJ the full distance, may be even steal it on one of the judges cards.
