I had scored this one for Lopez. he won 7 rounds from 12 rounds here. This is my opinion. Yeah, one from cards for this fight looked laughable joke, this too.
Well what he says is what we all know that if the fight was remotley close he would lose. In reality it was draw but score cards were joke.
This of course. I do not think that this was draw. I think that Lopez defeated him but this was close and respectable fight. If about Salido fight, I do not agree that Salido might had won this one if this was in the U,K vs U.K boxer and ref. NC or DQ for Salido, this yeah. Lopez, I looked really attempted to box clean and keep discipline, props for Lopez, he isn't Salido.
Most fighters are. Their delusion is what gives them the will to go in there and fight other top fighters.
I don't think that he is loser. 12-2 in pro tittle fights formally, for me 13-1. He is millionare and 2 times Olympic champ too, not some nobody. Campbell already looked too big for him, I had expected that he will gave Lomo more problems. Now Lopez, guys, better is to see close fights than 0 in records and long talks.
When you have so much on the line in a big fight you don't give away the first half of the fight, especially when you don't know how the judges are scoring them. I honestly don't understand why he thought that things would still go his way with that egregious strategy. You HAVE to make every second of every round count, not waste your time hoping the opponent slows down. He has no one to blame but himself. Making excuses about it is only making himself look worse, which is a shame because I thought he would be more professional than that.
I do not think that he assumed that Lopez might gass out. Most likely assumption that Lopez will not keep to box disciplined and will loss caution, go for KO and create too wide and long openings etc. Lomo is smart, Lopez too and they both does know that with 1 blow be it body or head fight might ended and also they both does have good gas tank. Wrong strategy, I do not think that this is shame or like looser forever. It is just BOXE. Both were respectable and young cat Lopez, despite his dad yelling, not bad cat.
I thought Loma would win, I like him, but I'll admit the way this has played out has given me a little schadenfreude.
Maybe Loma was bribed to throw away the first half?? I've never seen anything like this before, most important fight of Loma's career, he doesn't throw for 6 rounds and all of the sudden he starts going back to his old self and dominating the 2nd half
Nope. In the lead up Lopez was portrayed as the star, Arum jumped ship, he knows Loma is injured to the point he won’t be ever 100%
