Don't forget when Fury won the mental battle in the sauna too!

Yes. And that was a long time before the presser.

He just jumped on a plane completely alone and headed for Detroit.

His mentor also told him what Tyson would become.

All of that had a huge psychological effect on Wlad.

He couldn’t deal with his antics in the build up. Tyson’s character made him feel very uncomfortable. You can see that when you watch everything back. He’d never met anyone like that before.

He had everything his own way for 10 years. And then Tyson told him to his face that he wouldn’t be able to clinch him and intimidate him as he was the biggest, most skilful fighter he’d seen. Wlad had never seen such confidence before. He went and shaved his hair after Tyson told him he looked old and grey. I’ve never seen that before. Tyson made him do things that were totally uncharacteristic. He took him out of his comfort zone.

Ali was also a master of this. Crashing Liston’s training sessions and telling a prime version of George Foreman that he hit like a woman.

Ali was too fast and too mobile for Wlad.

So let me get this straight.

You are thrusting forth Sonny Banks dropping an Ali who was in his 11th fight, just turned 20 and two fights earlier came in as light as 188.

Then in the very same paragraph you are throwing out Wlad getting ko'd by Sanders because Wlad was "pre-prime" and wasn't yet "the Wlad we would grow to know".

    Ali in his 11th fight.
Wlad in his 42nd fight. (also stopped in his 25th fight)

    Ali 20yo
    Wlad 27yo

That's some solid impartial posting right there.

I was saying that Banks was not a superior opponent to Sanders, and he wasn't, he would be brutally KOd by Sanders at any stage of their careers. Yeah, neither were at their primes yet, I've acknowledged this in this thread, already.

Wlad couldn’t handle the mobility of Tyson Fury who’s like an 1/8th as mobile as Ali.

Wlad would be awkward with all that size and plenty of power but Ali would beat him. He'd have to work a bit to overcome the size but he'd win.

I agree that a peak Muhammad Ali, 1964-1967, would have outpointed both Klitchko brothers as Ali at this point would have had the quicker hands, unending stamina, could dance for 15 rounds, was never decked as champion in his first title reign, much lass never lost his title in the ring, it was stripped from him for refusing to fight in a pointless war, Vietnam, thanks to a warmongering president at that time. Ali in either stages in his career never had a punch. He usually weighed 212 lbs, was not a jolly green giant that used steroids, most of today's use, no way that anyone can grow to the size that basket ball players do, and most of today's heavyweights are flabby, someday they will suffer heart disease from carrying all that excess weight, the human body was not made to carry all that weight. And true, Terrell could have not beat either Klitchko. I saw the Ali vs Karl Mildenberger fight live on television in 1966, Karl was very game. I am not impressed with the overgrown steroid users of today, I am not impressed by size or weight. I am impressed by skill and good conditioning.
