That's too much. Ward at 175? What has Canelo done to you.

Yeah, nobody beats Canelo right now 168 and below until he declines. Too explosive, durable, skilled, quick on the counter, and defensively sound. He beats Saunders, Plant, Charlo, Andrade, etc.

Beterbiev is just another "old shot fighter " Canelo won't get credit so not worth it.

I would much, much rather seem him fight all those guys and beat them than move to 175. He could retire after beating those 4 guys with a great resume.

I wanna see it. Ward probably less shot than kovalev. Maybe not quite as good on the outside as kovalev and less of a puncher but he has better variety and is physically and mentally tougher. Layoff also plays a part.
    I want to see it.

Beterbiev and Bivol are also great fights and more relevant because they're active and prime but Ward has "huge legacy PPV fight" written all over it

Agreed, and I don't think Canelo will be the type of guy to stick around very long after a considerable decline.

No Saunders and Charlo would just be a formality. Charlo is solid but has nothing special to beat Canelo with. Saunders has wasted those prime years where he could have outslicked Canelo. Plant and Andrade are high risk low reward fights. Stylistically boring matchups as well. If those 2 get some live bodies on their Resumee then fine but otherwise Canelo should fight the animals at 175.
Not because I want to see him slaughtered but because he needs to reach for his ceiling while he's still in his prime like Pacquiao did against Cotto and Margarito.
He can cherry pick and fight these other guys later

Exactly why I want to see it.
Because MAYBE IT ISN'T TOO MUCH.
160 was too much for Duran but to see him in there for 15 rounds with Hagler was amazing. And then years later he beat Barkley for the title.
Canelo is a real modern atg and I want to see just how far he can go.
168 is pointless, the contenders there haven't fought anybody and he won't get the credit.

To me, when size is too much of the equation in a fight, it cheapens it a bit. I prefer other things to determine the outcome. Don't get me wrong, beating bigger guys that are also good is a great feat. I'm just saying, for the bigger guy, the win is not as good, and a smaller guy can be ruined too.

I don't consider those other guys cherry pickings like you. They are solid fighters and a win over all of them is a significant feat.
