Canelo beat a 1930s-size HW yesterday. How would he do against prime Bronze Bomber for the world heavyweight title?
He would slip a lot of Joe's punches, but Joe wouldn't wear down like Callum Smith did and back away from a toe to toe war.
Louis was a great body puncher he would have killed Canelo with hooks to the body and head, he wa a very good combo puncher and hit far harder than anybody that has hit Canelo thus far.
Canelo has good defence and chin but it's not that good. I'm sure he'll make Louis miss but at some point he'll catch him and Louis remember cracked several of Schmeling's vertebrae in the rematch, his power would be too much, those body shots would too much.
Hagler would have beat Canelo but Louis hit far harder than Hagler so would have beaten Saul far easier.
Go watch Canelo’s 7 punch combination against Josesito and tell me Louis’s hand speed was anywhere close to Canelo’s. Don’t get carried away next time LOL
That was a good combo and quicker than Louis`s but Joe`s punches were so short they only travelled an inch, Canelo couldn`t stand in front of Joe the wy he stood in front of Joesito, he was also getting caught if he got caught like that v Joe he`d get knocked out, CAnelo`s come forward style would be suicide v Louis, he`d kill him with hooks to body and head.
This is pretty much how the first Billy Conn fight went down. Conn -- who weighed in at 169lbs in an era when weigh ins were held on the same day of the fight -- the used his movement and jab to befuddle Louis, and visibly rocked Louis several times. He was supposedly slightly ahead after the twelfth ... and then he decided to abandon his successful tactic in favour of standing in front of Joe Louis and trading with him. This new approach didn't work quite as well as the old one had. When asked after the fight why he chose to stand in front of Joe Louis, Conn replied "What's the use of being Irish if you can't be thick?".
