Well we have all heard SKY but i watched the PBC show last night and Danny Garcia may as well have not bothered turning up.....awful
PBC broadcasts are terrible. There was a section where Spence threw 5 shots and missed 4. Instead of praising Garcia’s defence, they praised Spence’s aggression.
There was a period for what felt like about 10 minutes were they just talked about compubox punch numbers, was doing my head in
How times change, they were all over Garcia’s balls when he fought Peterson a few years ago and got the decision despite being beaten pretty handily in most people’s opinion.
Just signed up to DAZN this weekend, good app and service with the exception of dreadful commentary inparticular Brian Kenny. At the beginning of Sanchez vs Fernandez, Kenny was trying to hype Frank Sanchez to be ready for the top 10 and how he would like to see Sanchez against Hunter next and would back him against Hunter, Whyte and Pulev (Bear in mind Sanchez as of yet has only beaten low level journeymen and was last night fighting a guy Shwarz of people KOed in 2). The DAZN commentary went over to hear from the UK pundits and Gareth A Davis and Calzaghe bascially laughed it off and Davis said anyone in the top 10 clear wipes out Sanchez. Brian Kenny seemed offended and tried to seek assurance from Sergio and the other guy who seemed reluctant to back in on this. Then Biased Canelo fight calling. Brian Kenny spoke to the other commentator in who gave Smith the 1st round in a tone liked he shocked and considered him to be mad (clearly a Smith round). Callum Smith regularly landed jabs and hooks to the Canelos body in the firt half of the fight but the commentary failed to pick this up. In one of the later round C.Smith landes 5 unanswered punches in quickn succession but Brian Kenny failed to mention this and was interested in talking how Canelo sits on the stall between rounds (WTF!).
Agree the DAZN commentary was crap. No idea who the blokes commentating even were. They were calling Canelo shots that weren't even landing and saying Smith was taking an almighty beating and should be pulled out of there. He was fine and never hurt at any point.
They were missing some of the uppercuts and good work that Smith was landing but you know, one judge gave him 3 rounds and two only gave him 1 and they don't hear the commentary so they weren't that far off. Smith was defo hurt, which is why Joe was gonna pull him out.
He was definitely hurt a couple of times in that fight. And it was a bit of a beating, though not one that warranted a stoppage. One of the commentators said as much, I think it was Calzaghe actually. But generally yeah, I found the commentary to be a bit poor. It was much better for the GGG card the night before. Algieri did a decent job and Rosado was really good too. I liked Andrade on the Canelo one, he was at least honest.
I agree Allegri and Rosado were much better although you can probably play a drinking game to the amount of times Algieri said " warrior" and end up with alcohol poisoning.
Not only that, he clearly made light of the fact that he "liked Canelo in every round". Complete admission at the beginning of the fight that he was going to give Canelo every round.
