Is Spence vs Crawford even that big of a fight financially?

Canelo is Mexican, he has a country behind him.

    Completely different.

Yes I agree. Floyd Mayweather is also American and he has 10x the Twitter followers of Canelo.

I'm pretty sure these YouTuber boxers are American too.

My main point is Spence and Crawford have quite a small following comparatively so will need more help drumming up PPV sales.

Hasn't Crawford also said that he'll want 60-40 for the fight?

I was under the impression Crawford wanted 50/50.

If that is the case they're as bad as each other.

I hope Crawford takes the split and makes the fight, its the biggest in the division.

I seem to remember that Bud said 60-40, but I'm not 100%.

Spence has a bigger name now. If they can tie up Pacquiao's name to either Crawford or Spence, they could have a better chance of reaching the casuals. Skillwise, it will be a topnotch fight but in terms of superstardom, I don't think both of them have reached point that yet.

I think they both would do some decent sales in UK at least - Spence more so is known from coming across to take the titles from Brook. Crawford of course came to Glasgow a few years earlier to shutout Ricky Burns to pick up his first strap at 135 - still not sure how high I rate that win as Burns wasn't the same fighter after his broken jaw against Beltran.

So deffo plenty of folks over here that would buy that, but neither obviously have Cenelo / Pacman level appeal, so hard to say how well it would sell. But it's easily the best fight that can be made at 147, though of course either against Pacman would sell much more.

Spence is the number 1 fighter in the division, so I feel Crawford needs the fight more if he wants to call himself a legitimate champion, but I'd hate to see the fight fall apart over a purse split.
