Canelo vs Lara

People are way too quick to call footwork and defense running, but what Lara did against Canelo actually was running.

What's crazy is even when Lara was completely neglecting offense Canelo still landed some solid body shots.

 

Yeah, he straight up RAN AWAY from Canelo in one of those rounds. And people think he deserves the win somehow...

Lara lands 10 more punches than Canelo in the entire fight.

Check this out: Out of the 97 punches Canelo landed, 88 were power punches to Lara's 52 power punches landed.

Canelo landed 36 more power punches that had great effect on Lara that caused him to fight scared and run most of the fight, and cut up his face.
Lara landed 46 more jabs that didn't stop Canelo from pressing the fight.

36 power punches is great that 46 jabs.

 

I didn't think so. One fighter landed jabs, the other fighter landed power punches.

 

those fights are always a robbery. No matther who wins.

Seriously. How can it be a robbery when 10 punches separated them.

 

Lara's activity level was his undoing
he won the first 3 rounds but if he had countered more instead of just running away he would have taken some of the rounds between 5-10 .

I mean that ALL fights like that are a robbery. Because there are always people who give a lot of values to jabs, and there are always people who give next to no value to jabs. The same with power. There are people who give a lot of value to power, and people who think that the number of hits is more important. So in those fights there are always people thinking that it was a robbery.


3 jabs vs 1 power punch can be scored in a lot of different ways. That's what I mean.

EDIT: to me, this fight was not a robbery, btw.

 

I had Lara winning by 2 rounds, he landed the cleaner more effective shots.

 

Canelo won more rounds and did more damage than Lara
