I agree on Beterbiev, but Bivol has said he can make 168 comfortably. Bivol would be as big a challenge as anyone else at 168 IMO

To be fair, Canelo opened up the 175 bag by taking on Kov - who had not a huge amount of time to recover after going life and death with Antfony Yarde (yes, let that sink in to see exactly how shot Kov was!!!)

I would love to see Canelo - Benavidez at 168, provided Benavidez gets himself in shape. David is a big unit with fantastic combination punching and blazing hand speed for his size. Plus, he's a mean, nasty dude who loves to scrap. Sign me up!

If Bivol can make 169 then maybe Canelo would accept but I’d imagine a rehydration clause would be required.

You’re right but it’s also how Floyd and Pac moved up to 154 but never really wanted to take anymore names besides the big ones. It’s all about the right names.

169 was a typo there! But yes, Bivol is not enough of a name for Canelo at this point i'd say. Maybe if Bivol beat Beterbiev that would change? But if Bivol can beat Beterbiev at 175, it would be hard to bet againts him beating Canelo as well.

Unbelievable that some will say Canelo is afraid of Beterbiev.
Canelo is not a big man, though he might beat some of the fighters there maybe even Beterbiev, 175 lbs is not Canelo's ideal weight.
Its like asking Mayweather to fight a prime Golovkin at Middleweight when there was nobody at 147 lbs that could beat him, I never knocked Mayweather for not fighting at 160 lbs, was'nt his weight.

Beterbiev and Bivol, due to their physique. I would have added GGG 2 years ago, but now Canelo likely defeats him

    Interviewer: ''Why Kovalev?''

Clenelo: ''Because he's the best LHW in the world?''

Sane people: ''Huh?. Kovalev is shot''

Clenelo fans: ''Wow! How amazing is Clenelo for beating the best LHW in the world in Kovalev?''

Also Clenelo fans: ''It's unreasonable to expect Clenelo to fight the second best LHW in the world even though he KO'd the best one''

Beterbiev or Bivol are the only 2 I see that can give Canelo a fight right now

I don't think Canelo wants any piece of Beterbiev at light heavyweight. Beterbiev is just to big and strong for him. I think Canelo will likely campaign mostly at 168 and 160 going forward those divisions I think suit him better. He caught Kovalev at a good time, Kovalev seems to have diminished over his career he apparently doesn't have the best lifestyle being a heavy drinker this factor I think helped Canelo in breaking him down late in their fight. Other then Beterbiev I like Canelo against the rest. I think he could walk down Bivol who is a small light heavyweight and be the aggressor on route to a decision. Benavidez would be a fun fight I think he'd put up a good fight maybe going the distance at best but don't think he'd beat Canelo. Billy Joe Saunders I think Canelo would be able to walk down and keep on the defensive. Caleb Plant would be similar to Saunders just maybe more one sided. Andrade and Charlo are hard for me to predict they might pose the best chance at 160 and 168 along with Golovkin who you can expect to again give Canelo a good fight though I'd look for Canelo to win the 3rd fight the clearer then he won the 2nd. That sums it up Canelo's looking real hard to beat at 168-160 especially after dominating Smith who I thought might pose a tougher challenge.
