Joe Gallagher is one of those annoying guys who always feels the need to play hardball to get what he wants.

It happened to Warren when he got shot. Guys promised work didn't get it as Frank couldn't put shows on. It's Boxing. Ask McVey, it happened to Jack Solomons when Harringay Arena closed.

I dislike Gallagher but there you can't blame just him for his fighters not taking fights.

If I was one of his fighters, he basically works for me, he is a trainer, he doesn't OWN me.

Hearn says "AJ is my Boss, I work for AJ, I work for all my fighters" and Hearn is their promoter.

Joes fighters have to put their feet down, insist they want those fights and insist Joe backs them, if not then maybe it's time to find a new trainer.

Joe in his mind is trying to get the best deals for his fighters, I don't think he is deliberately holding his fighters back, ruining careers or deliberately being a Moby... but unfortunately that's exactly what he is doing.

Bottom line for me, the fighters need to come out and say what they want, say they just want big money fights, say they are prepared to sit it out, or say they just don't fancy certain fights because they seem to be hiding behind Joe because they know exactly how it looks if they say they only want big money or they are not interested in fighting certain people.

Joes better off out the sport imo. This stuffs been going on for years from his gym. With the smiths etc. And the long unbeaten records only because joe was too scared to put his fighters in with anyone with a chance to beat them unless the moneys astronomical. Paul smith used to fight journeymen for years then go in with a big name. He,d get leathered then back to journeyman then back up to the big name to get leathered again. Rinse and repeat.

What joe does is pretty smart...but when theres never been as much oppertunity in the sport hes basically giving nothing back atm. Even in the quigg/frampton fight it was as far away from entertainment as you can get.

At some point....you,ve got to ask if its worth it from eddies point of view when theres guys like chisora and whyte taking on anyone who wants it...putting everything they,ve got into the fights etc.

I quite like joe as well. But at some point hes got to seize the day with his fighters. Theres never been as many oppertunities...even after a loss nowadays. Its time for him to change his model and start taking some risky fights for the money on offer. Or eventually there gonna end up out in the cold probably rightfully so.

I rate joe as a trainer but his insecurities are costing himself and his fighters atm.

Joe really should not bite the *only* hand that feeds him. I am pretty sure I have heard that Warren pretty much blacklisted him

    Eventually they will buckle
Joe seems to have convinced them all differently... For now

They all need a wage so at some point all boxers will have to accept pay days are going to be less

    Some more than others

The man is a total joke with his pre-historic tactics every fight. How are ANY fighters still with him? He holds them back.

Anyone have his record of defeats now in world title fights?

I agree, it certainly looks that way. I would sooner see everyone fighting regularly, as we all would.
I watched an interview with Dana White talking about boxing being ruined by money. How it was stopping good fights happening, and certain fighters not wanting to fight unless there getting £££££££. I suppose that filters down to a certain level.
To be fair to Eddie Hearn, I have heard him criticise the fighters, albeit indirectly and without naming them, who want to sit on their hands watching match ups pass by because they are waiting for a money shot or an easier night.
I think it was in defence of the recent Babic the savage fight, and the criticism by some of how Babic was unworthy of a place on the card.
Babic gets a place because he is willing to put it on the line, same as Whyte and many more who would given the chance, put it on the line.
Horses for courses but boxing suffers in the long run, by losing out on great fights.

He really hit the jackpot with his % in Smiths double lottery payouts.
First with the luckiest, to date, run in the WBSS then last Saturday’s money grab.

Gallagher would of kissed and made up with Eddie in Texas. He has no relationship with frank so if it breaks with Eddie longterm also he will have issues.

It seemed that way after Joe accused them of being racist, whilst in the same breath moaning about the purses Buatsi is getting haha! But I'm fairly sure we see Jonas back on sky in 2021.
