how can they do a ppv when neither has a large fanabase and are completely unknown to the general public?
Ruiz wins easily in the ring and then also wipes the floor with Arreola afterwards in the post fight all you can eat buffet contest.
this fight should have happened while Ruiz was still the champ. He should have given another latino the opportunity to fight for the title since he squandered his own, even before rematch with AJ. now this fight means nothing.
Disappointing tune up fight but expected. Arreola was never any good. Hopefully Ortiz fights someone half decent but I doubt it. Should of just made Ruiz vs Ortiz, would of been a easy enough fight for Ruiz.
If they are realistic about price, I might indulge. Ruiz might could still be a contender if he can get past Burger King and Arreola. In that order.
If the doubleheader is Ortiz vs. Whyte with Ruiz vs. Arreola, it would probably sell well in the UK. I don't think Ruiz and Arreola could sell it on their own. In the 90s, their fight would be a "Great Western Forum" type matchup.
I can't imagine this doing well as a PPV no matter how they price it, because there won't be enough money to even market it correctly. People won't know it's happening. Arreola is a shot fighter and should not be fighting at all, much less against someone in the top 10 like Ruiz. I'd happily pay a modest PPV for Ruiz vs Ortiz, but we don't need them taking setup fights before squaring off next fall or something. Silly.
