Makes me wonder sometimes too i got to admit. Canelo threw less punches in the Kovalev fight and was blowing harder than against callum where he went for it ,every shot was full power.
rumours and this came out vs Kovalev manager recently was that there is hydration clause but not called hydration clause canelos contract call it safety clauses in contract. Kovalevs team said a non-disclosure agreement was put in place and paid ON TOP of base to adhere to the safety clauses. Not sure what level of the clause is but i would not be surprised if this was also in play in some shape or form in the fight. I don't think its a massive clause maybe just something like 10-20b above the weigh-in limiit
i think hearn said they were both signed up for VADA testing. pretty sure its easy enough to get round though.
Yeah Lance Armstrong never failed a drugs test but was one of the most tested athletes on earth... testing is way behind the pharmacists
means nothing. The vada testing starts from sign of contract which was 5 weeks before the fight. Canelo and his team know this is too late and they cycled off by then. using PEDS you want to come off 6-8weeks before fight date and start using masking agents. There is a reason why canelo left this fight late as possible to announce. He knew it was Smith back in May when he was sparring over 6ft+ fighters, If you want to turn a blind eye at all these inconsistencies thats fine. Look at all canelos fights most have short notice fights. THe GGG fight was an example where he did not have the luxury of short notice and hid in mexico and got caught. This was why GGG insisted to fight and announced, earlier than usual for canelo fights
Prime reason why canelo gives him opponents 4-6 week prep If the fight isn’t signed then in fight testing doesn’t need to happen Thus cycling can be done
Once youve had the juice i imagine its gonna be extremely difficult to give up those performances advantages. Just look at big baby miller, fiends cant help themselves.
It’s that old adage. If it’s too good to be true it usually is. Jumping up and down weights without a care in the world. He’s making a complete mockery of weight divisions in boxing atm. It wouldn’t surprise me if he went up to cruiserweight either.
If Golovkin v Alvarez 3 happens it has to be at Middleweight, none of these clauses or anything, a straight up Middleweight World Title Fight with strict drug testing. Golovkin beat him the first time around and Alvarez was Clen'd to high heaven, it's an absolute joke that not more was made of that, it absolutely stunk.
