I am still surprised at how naive the majority of people are about PEDs in sport ,and the outrage when someone gets caught for a trace amount of clen or whatever

I think there's a difference with boxing because if you're a runner, cyclist, footballer or tennis player and you get busted you're not hurting anyone, physically. In combat sport it can be the difference between life and death, you're gaining an advantage to help you hurt someone in a sport where people die and suffer life changing injuries.

I agree with the majority here, except for "everybody is doing it".

What about the guys like Inoue - wouldn't stereoids show on his physique?

Or Kovalev - normal "working guy" physique, always tired in the later rounds. Would he also be on the juice?

Steroids absolutely do not show in your physique if you don't bodybuild. In MMA one of the most prolific ped users is called Josh Barnett and his body is a sack of ****.

There really is not way to be certain without a test but at the highest level when there is so much money legacy and pride on the line, it's fair to assume they are all doing everything they can to win

One of the differences with boxing and why they get a slap on the wrist even if caught is the money people stand to lose. If a top sprinter tests positive the week before the 100m final, you still have your race. If a footballer tests positive, you still have 20 other players in the squad and 50 games a season to make your money. If Canelo tests positive before Canelo vs Smith, then you have no event at all and the promoters, local commission, boxing organisations, TV networks, casino (if it was in normal times) all lose a ton of money. So it's in everyone's interest to ignore it. Hell even Smith would have likely still taken the fight 'cos the money is so good.

good point, i looked up his pictures, one would never have guessed he's a user based on his physique.

The video of him pre-cycle just shows how much the roids are helping put on muscle mass. Shocking really.

I know nothing about peds or cycles but I would be shocked to the soles of my boots if Canelo was on peds. Past is past and I would of thought lessons have been learnt. Going forward, Frank Warren had the best idea. Lifetime bans, make some examples and it will make the users think twice. Along with 365 days a year random testing wether your fighting or not.

What lessons? That clenbuterol improves his stamina and the authorities won’t punish him? Canelo is as obvious an example of PED abuse as you’re going to get IMO. The guy went from struggling to put a dent in Matt Hatton to being considered a power puncher at 168.
