Canelo is as strong as a bull. Very hard to hurt him. I wouldn't dismiss Smith's punching power just cos Canelo wasn't troubled by it. Very very few are as strong as Canelo.

Do agree with you although given Smith's last two outings at SMW I'm wondering if making 168 is now zapping his power.

WBSS winner, World champion and ring magazine champion at 168 plus also fought the elite in Canelo........ time to move up to 175.

This is a very good point, GGG is very widely regarded as being heavy-handed and Canelo ate his best shots.

That said, I'd also say that Canelo learned a lot from his defeat by Mayweather about how to roll with punches, take thes sting out, head movement etc. Mayweather was sublime that night, and although Canelo was green, I'm betting he watched that fight a huge amount of times and absorbed a ton from it.

But yup, he's as strong as an ox as well and that thickset neck can absorb some really heavy punishment. For being a ginger, he doesn't seem to mark up or cut either.

No havent been to buy a new laptop, only just seen the responses, sorry it's taken so long, I dont spend every minute of the day on here lole you.

Having been a boxing fan for many decades I never would have bet money on smith to beat Canelo and no I'm no relative, I just find it highly disrespectful that you call people planks and puddings when the truth be told a ***** like you would sleep for a week of a journeymans jab!!!

Sorry son but someone as pathetic as you could never find me up, thank you that wonderful break down of how Callum should have approached the fight.

Your talents on this forum are wasted why aren't you a trainer, you should have giving Callum that amazing wisdom before the fight he would have definitely won then hey????

I'm sure the PLANK Gallagher will be out of a job soon , why dont you put your name forward?

Win the fight at long range, punish Canelo everytime he tried to close is one of the funniest things I have read for a long time....

Have you ever watched smith or Canelo fight before??

For his size and reach advantage, how many times his Callum dominated off his jab?? Answer is hardly ever, his game is inside fighting and counter punching , I.e letting his opponent come to him.

How do you make canelo pay everytime
he tries to close? Have you watched his movement before??? You cant at that level just say make him pay keep it long , that's plan A , against elite fighters you need to be able to adapt to your opponent round by round , smith was never going to be able to do this with only that game plan........

You must have wound him up at the top of the head while I done his back - never seen a seethe like this since Naz was raging at losing his big wedge on Eubanks to beat Groves.

Smith was a punching bag, very poor performance from him, injured or not his balls shrivelled up!!
