Would you like to see him team up with Dom Ingle, he's already a decent body puncher and already has a physique fit for the Ingle gym
I believe they spar in-house which is why nobody seems to have sparred him, he's missed out on so much experience not sparring other British light heavyweights or going over to help in camps in Eastern Europe
Somebody I know has spent quite a bit of time in their camp and he said he can't remember seeing sparring session. All he saw was pads and cardio.
Penfold in the camp? He got all his fighters bumped off yet people still rate him? He seems to get fighters through being a Matchroom schill.
No idea where this rep of Penfold being an amazing trainer has come from. I saw Hearn refer to him as the best trainer in the world the other week and nearly spat me drink out. Penfold is almost on Bellew’s level for hogging the camera and being a Matchroom cheerleader at the moment.
It's strange that people are still under the impression that Yarde is going to be a world-beater with a change of coach. Tunde is obviously not up to the job, but I don't think Yarde is much more than smoke and mirrors either way. World class prospects don't lose at domestic level against opponents with one good arm, no matter if they had Peter Kay as chief second. Having Tunde in the corner has become a convenient excuse for Anthony not having the ability to back up the way BT and Frank Warren hyped him.
That's unbelievable. Sparring is the main part of any camp. Working on tactics under the next best thing to a live fight, or conditioning yourself for the rounds when someone is been competative with you, and any mistake results in a punch in the face and getting yourself ready for punishment for when fight night comes. You can only do all these things with proper sparring. Now tbf I can agree that not all spars have to be hard. In British Boxing most camps for fighters/fights are done with hard sparring. I can agree with a mixture of technical spars and hard spars but to not have any sparring is ridiculous and it has shown in yardes fights. Mentally, how does he know he can do the rounds of a live fight if he hasn't done any sparring, it must be holding him back big time. Has Tunde ever said why they don't do proper sparring.? Tbf to Yarde, hes done well in his career, considering they have not utilised this, oh so important part of training.
I think you are doing a disservice to Peter Kay there, he's a great trainer and managed to carve out great careers for the very limited talents in Dave Spikey and Paddy McGuinness.
Well he and Bellew built a good partnership I guess, but apart from that he hasn't done anything special with his fighters. My first memory of him is when he put the blame. on big David Price after his loss to Hammer, saying he has nervous energy. I disliked him for that, and then he thought he was big arguing with Adam Morallee. The cringe.,.and he tried to own the Penfold thing. He did alright with the Mcdonells tbf to him, did nothing with Fowler too. Gill is doing alright but won't do anything at World Level. Coldwell has been training Hopey Price since the start of his career, it will be interesting to see how he continues developing under Coldwell. I rate Price above McCann and doing a good job with Price will enhance his reputation for sur.e
It might be, all I know is that Coldwell sucks up to Matchroom, Hearn and Sky. He does all the commentary for Sky and constantly posts Matchroom content on his Instagram and Twitter, Gill is either fighting a fringe world fighter or Kiko Martinez for the European Title next.
