Tyson`s hand speed was poor v Douglas.

Tyson`s offense was very basic v Douglas and Young would have landed a lot of jabs.

It's possible Young could do it but I lean towards Tyson, I'll tell ya what, Buster Douglas laid some leather on Mike Tyson that I don't think Young could duplicate.

Douglas hardly gave him chance after chance to get fancy. I'll grant he was in ordinary shape but he didn't have it his way for once. Douglas put forth a sustained counter offensive and never let up. Young would have landed some jabs while he was still standing. Again he doesn't have close to Buster's offensive tools.

It was the fact that Douglas could land that leather that was important, Tyson`s defense was all over the place.

Can Young throw the powerful uppercuts that Douglas did? Those were a big part of keeping Tyson off.

Tyson, even in average shape, is much quicker than Foreman. Young needs some leather to keep Tyson off him. In addition to jabs and powerful uppercuts, Douglas also landed some dynamite straight right hands and the occasional power hook. Young couldn't do any of these things.

Young’s style is built to frustrate a diminished Tyson too a DQ in my eyes.

His fight against Douglas is a display of unappreciated heart, as he said “I took my beating like a ****ing man”

No, Tyson still had a punch and a desire to kill anything in front of him and Young´s jab an counters could not have hold Tyson away from his jaw.

    Well said.
Thats in fact the crucial extraction of our last Douglas - MT thread: It looks like the difference to Tucker, Thomas and Biggs was functional agression and power, more than move, box and a solid chin.
Attack as a part of disturbing the enemies offense. The way Fury distracted Deontay Wilder off his usual fighting style.

For me personally, Young befuddling Tyson for a good amount of time is not totally implausible.

Young is going to get caught by Tyson repeatedly ... Unless you are fighting the shot to pieces version of Tyson, you will get caught in 12 rounds of boxing ... It doesn't matter how elusive, agile, tall, long or fast you are or how good your defense is ...

Can he handle Tyson's pressure, speed, power, and combinations? Can he hurt Tyson? Douglas had to literally give him a royal beating to finally win after 10 rounds.

I don't think Young can beat even this Tyson

Young didn't have the firepower to keep Tyson honest.
But Tyson had the hand and foot speed to catch and trap Young.
Tyson ko's Young in 5-6 rds. Even the Tyson that
    fought Douglas.
Some don't understand Douglas was one of the most gifted heavyweights
in history of the last 30yrs.-40yrs
For one night he got the maximum from his
gifts and fought to his true capabilities. That
version of Douglas would've given any version
of Tyson hell. May have beaten him regardless....
Tyson wasn't as far past his prime as some make
it seem the night he fought Douglas.

He was 24 ... He wasn't at his peak but still this was his prime ... He didn't care about boxing though, that's the difference ... it doesn't matter if you're in your prime but don't give a sh1t .. u won't do well

Kinda sums it up about toyko Tyson, he didn't give a crap for the fight. Went in with his head totally screwed up and expected Buster to fold.
    Didn't happen and he didn't have a plan B.

I think he stacked up well compared to Douglas because he did well v Foreman, Tyson ws all over the place v Douglas yet Buster still missed a ton of shots, I think Young wwas better at spoiling than Buster and there have been a number of heavyweigt champs that Young might have beat.
