One of the gyms I work at in the south east had 9 confirmed cases of covid last week alone. That’s compared to 0 before the first lengthy lockdown. I’ve had 4 personal training clients contact me this weekend after testing positive. Figures are going crazy.
This new variant spreading quicker than the legs of a prime Katie Price - going to be a hard, long 3-4 months ahead for all of us. Pray that the vaccination works on the new variant or we can also write off 2021. My local Chinese is getting the same treatment as Eh Day Hearn's PPVs for at least one year after Covid gone - they can stick their curry up their yellow arris.
The lasting damage for this and then Brexit ontop isn't going to be repairable for a massive part of our lives now. It's not going to be a hard 3/4 months, it's going to be a tough 20-30 years.
As a former Funeral Director i am not worried one iota. During my past career, i came across many things relating to this nonsense, and believe you me it is all nonsense. I have survived visiting nursing homes, hospital mortuaries you name it, and picked up every deceased that has passed away from every form of BS that was meant to kill me as well if i came in to contact with anyone infected. I still do today to help out, with no vaccinations in me for this one, or any previous one. Nobody can tell me this is different and convince me, and never will.
They should put shows on in places like Cornwall. Why not. Hearn has always been far too London centric for his southern shows
You are completely missing the point. Come to one of the worst hit hospitals right now and you will see what the issue is. One of our hospitals had ambulances waiting up to 3 hours this week. It's not necessarily that the disease will kill you it's the amount that need hospital treatment because of it. Winter is a busier time anyway and with this ontop it's getting crazy in some hospitals.
After 9 months of lockdown downs and shutting down most small and medium sized businesses. Imagine what another 6 months is going to do. Average mortality age of 82 folks. That is above average life expectancy. This is like burning down your house twice over, because there is a wasp in your front room that might sting you. Lots of stinking rich big businesses are going to make coin on this. Lots of millionaire property developers are going to hit 100s of millions off the repossessions and business closure. But so many people cheer the government on as they destroy peoples lives, make them homeless and kill them over nothing.
I wouldn't say it's over nothing, my Mrs works in one of the worst affected Hospitals and it's pretty bad. The NHS has been ripped apart and under staffed for such a long time that they can't cope. All these private companies that politicians have vested interest in get contracts then up their prices massivly, just leeching all the money out and this is what happens. Working and lower class people will always get screwed over but will never properley unify to fight back.
Box Office pay per puddings another good example of the final sentence - the concept would die a quick death if people stood firm.
Well we are due for more snow this week, and as per usual the country will not be able to cope, it cannot handle anything that is remotely challenging. All hail the tories.
Quite a few premier league games being postponed now with 18 players this week alone testing positive. Talk of a footy circuit break on the horizon. With Tier 4 extended over most of the county and rumours or a full lockdown review in another fortnight, I can’t see any UK boxing happening in January
Can’t see much UK boxing happening until March even behind closed doors. Mick has a show planned for April which seems the likeliest start date for boxing to return. I doubt Hearn even tries to moot a PPV before then.
I agree with most of your post and like you i think there is more behind it. Less than 2 months ago the BBC news reported the highest property price rise since the 2008 bust. How can this be when 2/3 of workers are on furlow and almost everybody with a credit debt has them on hold. The country, pre covid was about to embark on THE biggest boom in history. Is it not cheaper for the government to finance the populations wages and create a blanket for brexit, than to have another banks bail out situation ??
Think Hearn will pole on with cards as he’s got a set amount of contracted dates he owes to Sky. last time they didn’t know how long everything was shut for so waited it out and crammed in the last 6 months. Hence why we saw the fight camp 4 cards in 4 weeks to catch up. The financial penalties to Matchroom will be too great to lose cards. I think we will see a lot more rylan charltons and Kane bakers padding cards out however. Will be around 5-7 fights a card with a few prospects, a couple unproved fighters like ashfaq, marku, Conway etc with 2 decent fights to top off like a gamal yafai European title defence, Josh kelly etc. I still think we get the Whyte vs povetkin PPV as they will want to keep it away from any AJ date to Maximise sale. The undercard of that will be babic, Riakporhe, Kongo etc any decent names like Saunders etc will be in the US. also have a feeling that the first AJ vs Fury fight will be in Middle East with the rematch in UK
I very much doubt Hearn will be penalised for postponing shows in the middle of a global pandemic, especially if requested to do so. Shows need a number of medics on site, if they can’t be spared it won’t be happening. Think footy and most other sports will be cancelled come mid January.
