Imagine if all fighters had the same mentality as Tyson Fury

While I think this statement is true -- it was my first thought upon reading the original post -- I also think those 2 "noteworthy" fighters are some of the "best of the best." The only other top fighter Fury really needs to face is AJ, and he'll have faced the top guys from this era and last.

So we can ask ourselves: Would we rather a champion fight "a lot of really good guys," or "the best of the best"?

Personally, I'm tired of the best not fighting the best. I'm tired of dream fights not happening. I do respect AJ for consistently fighting high tier guys (geriatric as they may be), but I'm still happier with Fury fighting Wilder and a younger, fresh, Wlad who hadn't been defeated in well over a decade.

He ducked the rematch with Wlad. Ran away from it, although it was a career high payday in front of a stadium packed with his own fans. Imagine all fighters were like Fury, our sport would be a laughing stock.

Yeah, we need more boxers with only a couple of good wins...

Four if you count Cunningham. Hammer and Kingpin were also ranked contenders when he fought them. He signed twice to fight David Haye.

And two of those were two of the three main rivals of his era. He's about to fight the third. Larry Holmes should have been so ambitious.

I really like that he took that fight, but being 32 and pro for 12 years and meeting only two really worthwhile opponents during that time isn't something I want fighters to emulate.

People who cry about Fury's resume are funny

You jerk off to manufactured records like AJ for vacuuming up the old washed euro bums like Povetkin, Pulev, Takam etc. All styles made to be knocked over by the Wlad & AJ types.

When Fury walks through AJ all that resume won't matter. Then he can slap up Whyte for a bit of fun afterwards. It's not even a competition.

Give Wallin a rematch, at least he didn't mentally jack it and came to win with a great gameplan whilst everyone hypes up dossers who haven't done squat.

Fury could beat AJ, Pulev, Povetkin, Whyte, Parker anyone you want with one hand behind his back & fighting Tony Bellew inbetween rounds.

    Wlad - 41
    Povetkin - 39
    Pulev- 39
    Takam- 37

    His young opponents:

    Parker took him the distance
Ruiz flattened him and took him the distance

Wilder has fought 1 noteworthy fighter (And lost both times)
(2 if you count 55 year old Ortiz whose best win is a 45 year old Jennings 6 years ago)

Why are people crying about Furys resume?

    Top 3 Wins Fury
    1. Wlad
    2. Wilder
    3. Chisora

    Top 3 Wins Joshua
    1. Wlad
    2. Ruiz
    3. Parker

Fury fought two world champions on the road and took their titles away like candy from a child. Joshua left the UK for the first time and was brutally knocked out.

Fury hasn't a deep resume. Yes. Joshua has fought better opposition overall. But what's the deal with that? Who cares about that?

Fury fought the hardest hitting individual boxing has ever seen and ended Wlads reign with a boxing lesson. He barely lost a round in those three fights. Joshua was wobbled and knocked down by Wlad, he was KTFO by Ruiz after getting dropped 10 times and he also lost several rounds against an old Pulev. I know people love bringing up resumes and all that **** and sometimes it's necessary if you want to compare two great fighters but in the HWD there is only ONE ****ing King and his name is Tyson Fury. Everyone who denies that should GTFOH ands start watching chess or Darts.

Anthony Joshua is a great athlete and a very good Heavyweight. But Fury is clearly the #1 HW right now and until Joshua beats Fury there is nothing that can change that fact. You guys should live with it.

Povetkin, Pulev and Whyte are all better wins than Chisora. Hell, Martin as well and Takam was outboxing Chisora until getting get caught out of nowhere. Chisora is really poor as third best opponent.

Joshua has also been a pro for a shorter time, if we're comparing the two.

Yes, it is underwhelming too. But that doesn't make Fury's better.

Most people didn't rate him very high since he fought low level opponents.
Usually, these guys know how good they are and if they fight only bums it means there's something wrong with them.
