Ali by decision, but I could see Holyfield trapping him on the ropes at time and landing some good combinations, also Ali was susceptible to counter punches because he did not bring back his hands after throwing, even though he is fast, keeping your hands down will always have its positives and negatives so I can see Holyfield landing some counter rights and backing up Ali to the ropes and landing combinations and he is good at pinning down movers

The Muhammad Ali of 1967 defeats Evander The Real Deal Holyfield by a unanimous verdict. Ali back then did not use Rope A Dope but had great footwork, had incredible speed, and had great timing. Ali had unending stamina to dance 15 rounds non stop. I do not see him on the canvas as in his 9 title defenses dating back to 1965-1967, he was never floored. I do see a chess match early by both as they both respect one another. But Ali as usual, Floats Like A Butterfly, and Stings Like A Bee. Ali was never a puncher even before his banishment for 43 months and after his return in 1970. Ali with his stick and move does not allow Evander to catch him on the ropes at any time during this contest. If it was 1970 on, I do think that Holyfield has a real good chance to trap Ali on the ropes, to inflict damage and possibly win, as Ali returned without his gifts of his peak years, he was vulnerable, lacked stamina.

Ali dances circles around Holyfield. Wins a pretty wide UD.

Holyfield would headbutt and clinch the whole way, same as he did against Tyson. he would effectively nullify Clay's superb footwork and speedy combinations, all the while opening cuts from those headbutts.
with his strongest weapons not working for him, and all the fouling, Clay would become visibly flustered, much like his debacle with Chuck Wepner...
Clay makes the fatal mistake of standing toe to toe and slugging which works for a round or two but eventually gets caught .
Holyfield shows no mercy as Clay had insulted him in the preflight presser, and he unloads on Clay, who's being held up by the ropes with his hands down.
Holyfield lands a brutal, uncontested 6 punch combo ending the fight and effectively ending Clay's career

With all due respect, I take it that you are not fond of Muhammad Ali, but that is your own feelings whatever the case may be.

But prime Muhammad Ali was not 1996 Mike Tyson. But that is your feelings and opinion.

I’m going with Holyfield. He’s one of the few heavyweights to match Ali in Speed, durability, and boxing skill. He also had a good left hook, which was one of Ali’s weakness. It wasn’t super powerful, but it was quick, sharp, and he can throw it all night. Holyfield could also apply aggressive counterpunching which is also something that gave Ali problems. No knockout in this fight though, two really strong chins and not a lot of raw power

Ali by decision .. a prime Holyfield was having a hard time w a 42 year old Holmes .. Evander was an incredibly brave warrior with a great chin, highly skilled , very smart and tough as all hell but he'd simply be outboxed .. Ali was faster, bigger, naturally stronger and just a bit better .. Evander never fought anyone naturally bigger, stronger, faster (huge key here) that matched him with chin, heart, intelligence and had better stamina ..
