Round 8 was next level type of stuff. What more could Lopez do? He brought great condition, intelligence, skill and determination. He was in with a guy who was magical. A brick wall of a man who loved combat.

Fight was a classic. Their first fight was a good one too. Yaqui had the misfortune of being in such a strong LHW era.

Saad’s first fight with Marvin Johnson was probably better all the way through than the rematch, but I still enjoy rewatching the rematch more. The 8th round is another one of my favorites, Saad was cut and tired and just kept throwing and throwing until Johnson went down.

The funny thing about that first fight was in the 8th round, the exact same thing happened. The entire round unfolded just like the rematch. Well worth watching.

Sheer brutality at the highest level. My favorite fight of all time and arguably the best fight of all time.

There is nothing more he could have done. He went for the kill but Saad survived and then thrived.

Matt was right there with Frazier Dempsey Holy Gatti in that he just was born for combat. He was the original Gotti. I dont know if there was a tougher man than Prime Matthew
