Canelo just vacated his WBA belt at middleweight, Eubank is the no1 ranked fighter and Murata is the regular champion. Could this be Eubank's best opportunity at a world title?
It makes for a very good fight if it can be made. Most definitely his best opportunity at becoming a major player at 160lbs.
Alvarez basically saying that Golovkin 3 isn't happening unless he forces Golovkin to go up in weight. The possibility of Eubank jnr dropping back down to his more suited weight to fight a guy that encapsulates so much of what is wrong with the WBA isn't getting me excited, it's nearly 3 years since Groves showed him the level he was at and he's not fought a decent opponent since, just shells of formerly decent fighters.
He’s never and never will beat a good/not shot to bits opponent. I always ask if his surname was Smith would anybody give a damn. No.
I’ve said before but I’ll reiterate. It’s interesting that since getting busted move Canelo and Saunders moved up to super middle. Wonder why they can’t make the weight anymore?
Eubank hasn't had a meaningful fight for the best part of 3 years. He didn't fight at all in 2020. He desperately needs a good challenging fight, to me it's almost irrelevant if it's at middleweight or super middleweight, he just needs to get in the ring again as he is wasting the peak years of his career. I never understood why he didn't sign with Matchroom, other than petty squabbles surrounding the fight that never was with Golovkin what would have prevented that? It's such an obvious fit. Eubank is a name, a good talker, looks the part and would fit in perfectly at Matchroom where he would have the perfect platform, and numerous big fights available to him. BJS rematch, Ryder, Smith for a start. He's been put on the shelf by PBC, no fight last year, no fights lined up, he has zero profile in America and that isn't really going to change dramatically...
Hearn didn't want anything to do with snr who was bad mouthing him and his old man while being a nightmare to deal with.probably thought this is not worth the aggro tbh.agree that Eubank Jr would have done well at matchroom though,he fits the bill perfect.would have made an absolute fortune despite being bang average.
I made a thread on here not long ago about how Eubank jnr could quickly and relatively easily raise his profile in the States, fight Rosado, especially after that Jacobs fight. Rosado is a game fighter, despite the 12 defeats people are still interested in watching him and he has a big following. A tear up with him would have been a smart move but Jnr just waits for corpses.
