Speaking of Wlad v. Thompson, can anyone give me the 411 on "The Tiger"?

I have never seen him fight. Is he at all decent or is he a tomato can?

    Thanks!

All I really know is hes 6'5 and a southpaw with decent boxing skills hes not very agressive. Hes dominated Dominick Guinn,Luan Krasqui and Timor Ibragimov so I dont think hes a tomato can. The fact hes Wlads height makes this intresting to me. Noboddys really hit Wlads chin in years and I think thats because they cant get inside that huge reach but Thompson may be able to.

he is a southpaw pure boxer

Pros: Size, jab, workrate, stronger inside, appears to have solid stamina, smart

Cons: Doesn't turn over on his punches resulting in slaps and arm punches, drops his right hand when he throws the left, slow hands and feet, average power at best, attacks in a straight line, no head movement

    Unknowns: Chin and heart.

Basically, Wlad is the worst style matchup for him. He will be a big target who stands in the pocket. Wlad will get off first due to the handspeed disparity. He lacks the power to keep Wlad off him. And if Thompson comes forward like he usually does, he will walking into punches.

U wald haters have no hope in this one barring injury

All 3 of these guys are journeymen anymore, Guinn hasnt been a player in the division since 03-04, Krasniqi claim to fame is getting the best of Brewster in there 05 battle, until Brewster started to lay the leather down in the 9th and got him out of there. Timor is the worst of the bunch, his fight against Brock a few years back was terrible and extremely boring, he has very basic skills, this is why Thompson was undefeated for nearly 8 years, fighting guys like the ones that were named will get you that type of record.

I agree they are on the journeymen level or a very good journeymen level but the thing is Thompson did exactly what you would want and that is 2 dominate all 3 he did not struggle which will atleast show hes much higher then that level.

So in other words, I should be seeing on the forums on Saturday night that Wladimir Klitschko is still the IBF/WBO/IBO Heavyweight Champion of the World.

    Thanks guys.

This one looks like a Wlad TKO, round 5 or 6.

    (I know, I know... I am such a hater... why didn't I pick him in the 1st?)

    Sorry.

All you need to know is that Wlad will beat him ugly. 3 rounds or less.

    Thompson's footwork is bad.

Vlad is taller than Thompson. Vlad is 6 feet 7 inches tall, and Thompson, does not look to be 6 feet 6 inches tall, perhaps 6 feet 5? Vlad is a little over 6 feet 7, perhaps a quarter inch, but that is not what Thompson's problem will be, it will be Vlad's power, skill, experience, etc. Vlad is much more skilled and quicker.

Yes, he's a higher level fighter than these fighters, but thats not saying much. Thompson is on Ray Austins level, the same fighter Wlad laid out in the second round with ease. I do expect Wlad to come out swinging, Wlad has nothing to afraid off and it will give the Wlad nuthuggers one more thing to cheer about.

Thompson's chin is allegedly virtually uncrackable according to Steve Kim.

In that video, his speed(hand movement) and agility(feet movement&torso) is horrible. We are in for a bore fest.
