Who do you think Tank's next opponent should be? Will he fight someone at LW? Or will he fight guys between 126-130lbs, as his last fight was at 130lbs. Some options: - Gary Russell Jr - Abner Mares - Miguel Berchelt - JoJo Diaz - Devin Farmer - Ryan Garcia (highly unlikely)
What should happen is Teo rematches Loma, Haney defends against Garcia, and Tank takes on someone like Berchelt or Stevenson. Then the winners of Teo-Loma and Haney-Garcia fight eachother - Tank, in the meantime, fights the other of the two mentioned before - then the winners of those fight eachother.
I wouldn't mind seeing a rematch against shot 39 y/o Cuban leprechaun Gamboa or maybe Haymon can dangle a carrot in front of Payano or Oscar Escandon to entice them to step up to 135 and take the fight. Payano is 1-4 in his last 5 fights and Escandon is 1-4 and they'd both be suitably undersized against Twink.
Tank vs Loma at 130 if we're not constrained by reality at all. If we are then please enjoy his upcoming PPV showdown with Robert Easter or Diego Magdaleno or if we're lucky Fortuna.
I'd like to see him fight Berchelt due to unfinished business but that won't happen. Anyone in the top 5 or 6 at 135 is fine with me.
The PBC is building towards a Tank-Chris Colbert fight, which is a fantastic scrap. Chris could use another fight or 2, but he said he wants to fight any of the champs at 130 and Tank has the WBA Super Featherweight belt, so why not. Easy fight to make, interesting style matchup. I’d love to see, although it probably won’t be next. Tank needs to stay busy so he doesn’t get fat or arrested.
I’d be good with berchelt. That would be a good fight. Gary RUSSEL would be dope as well. why can’t that lil fella get a fight?
Honestly I like anyone of those guys but I’d love to see him ko Garcia, but it is highly unlikely at the moment.
For crying out loud fight a live opponent. All this guy does is fight guys he has some sort of advantage over.
Gary Russell Jr. for sure, followed by Fortuna, who will have already been UDed by Haney by that point... or the winner of the Diaz/Rakhimov fight. Then Colbert next year in what should be a good one. Sadly, the unfortunate cult of the "0" dictates that Tank, Garcia, Haney and Lopez will duck each other until they're well into their 30s... Case in point: Garcia called out Tank and the WBC ordered Garcia-Haney, only for DLH to say Garcia isn't "ready" for either. The best thing that could happen to us as fans or any of these guys is an L.
What you’re describing is logical for all parties involved and would help end discussions about who’s who in the division. It’s a nice thought... that I am simply to jaded to believe will ever occur. Tank will continue to fight 126’ers and despite his knock out over LSC, I don’t think all of his power got the forwarding address when he moved up.
True, but you could say the same about 85-90% of the star prize fighters. don’t make it right. But es troof.
