This week's assignment of Teofimo's haters has been brutally shut down by WBC President Maurizio Sulaiman. Teofimo Lopez is the Undisputed Lightweight World Champion. This content is protected
Not that I don’t think he should be undisputed, but the WBC is basically making up and changing the rules as they go.
Sulaiman also said that the Franchise belt was non-transferable(gave 1 to Lopez). Sulaiman also said that Loma would be undisputed if he beat Lopez. “Lomachenko is the WBC lightweight champion. He won and petitioned for the Franchise designation. The Franchise is put above any champion in the lightweight category. So, Lomachenko is in fact champion with special attributes. He doesn’t have to face the mandatories that normally come when you win a vacant title. He was named Franchise and he could go ahead and make this fight with Teofimo Lopez.” Sulaiman then said that Lopez(after beating Loma) was not undisputed. Now Lopez HAS to face Haney. https://merkabax.com/athletic-thoug...ez-is-not-the-undisputed-lightweight-champion Good article on the ****ery that's going on. Oh, and for a while, WBC webpage had Haney as their champ. They had a big ol picture of him up there. Now they have all their "champions" listed with cute little picture. They have 3 champions!
So that makes Haney his mandatory as soon as he checks his email, right? Right??? No, no, I know it doesn't mean anything like that.
will look where he is ranked. Undisputed now usually is called boxer who does have all 4 most well known boxing orgs World tittles in his weight class. WBO, WBA, WBC, IBF. Usyk after WBSS final had becomed Undisputed in CW division.
Not saying Teo isn't, but who cares about the WBC in 2021? This franchise is meaningless. In fact, if they wanted to discredit themselves, they couldn't do à better job than what they have been doing over the last couple of years with their multiple belts. F the WBC
It is funny how the haters ignore the WBC and think that they can themselves determine who is the WBC champion. If the WBC has Teofimo as undisputed, any further discussion on the WBC's 3 belts is meaningless.
The WBC could confirm the boil on my arse and I still wouldn't believe them. This "franchise" belt **** needs sorting out. Have a champ and let that be it ffs
After more than 40 years of following boxing, I've long given up on following who holds what title. From my perspective, it's pretty clear that Lopez is the top guy. Let's hope he continues to fight the best.
