We all know how it went with Vitalis brother. But Vitali had a chin of Iron, one of the highest Ko rates of all time and almost never lost a round his entire carreer. He also had a penchant for fighting better when angry. Does Fury lose to the better man?
I wouldn’t rule Vitali out one bit and I say that because this fight is going to be ugly as hell, super scrappy and very messy down the stretch. I could actually see Vitali knocking down fury late in the fight after losing the majority of the opening rounds, creating potential for a very close decision or draw. I would still have Fury as a favourite though, his slickness and savvy will help him, but he’s going to need a whole lot more than just that to get the win
I would favour VK. He was never behind on points, more agressive and had a really high and steady workrate. Though I tend to underestimate Fury a bit. I favoured also WK against him. However, WK was already old, a bit lame during the fight and Fury was a bit groggy at the end. I think VK was probably also stronger than WK.
I am surprised given their respective records that many favor Fury. If Wlad was not both old & in a bad mental state, he also very likely would have won. I could see the more recent Fury having a real shot, but not being the favorite. Given Vitali's size chin & awkwardness, I do not think Fury's skills are likely to win the day.
I'd take Vitali. In fact I'd say he's better suited to fight Fury than Wlad. Wlad was looking to outbox Fury and was scared of being countered. Vitali has an armoured chin and was far busier than Wlad. Fury is a guy with a low workrate as it is. Vitali handily outworks him for a UD.
Speaking about record, who has Vitali beaten? Fury would have been his best win. Fury has the height advantage, plus he is the better , slicker more fluid boxer. He is certainly the logical pick here even though it would not be an easy fight of course. I say Fury by competitive UD
We all should know by now that the style Fury would struggle with the most is a shorter come forward pressure fighter. He’s used to peppering big juicy targets with his jab. Suddenly shrink that fighter down and the target becomes a lot smaller, a lot more evasive and not to mention the effect that punching downwards has on your punches. I think someone like Frazier, Norton or Holyfield, give Fury as much trouble as some of the slightly bigger heavyweight greats like Ali, Lewis, Bowe, Foreman etc
What do you mean by Fury was narrowly stopped by Cunningham and Wallin? He was down against Cunningham, out of sheer negligence, but he wasn't down against Wallin. I would take Vitali Klitschko, but it would be a good contest. I would take Vitali against pretty much anyone, though.
