So true. The fights w/ Turner, Mims, Fullmer, Tiger, Carter, and Rivero 2 (now on my boxing playlist btw) were all examples of this. Well, MAYBE scratch Mims who was not a big hitter, but all the others were.
This is a tough thing 2 think of, cuz if you're a light hitter, u usually can't win a fight unless u jab, clinch, and run around and those types of things. Only a select few could do that. Ali, Holmes, SRR, SRL, and even Holyfield were among the few who could actually pull this off. And I would mention that they all did it frequently.
Ruddock and Morrison were both heavy hitters, but Morrison clearly had the history of being less durable. https://qph.fs.quoracdn.net/main-qimg-46590a513eff23bde52a326c3789d63b https://thumbs.gfycat.com/SomeGlamorousHornedviper-max-1mb.gif
Well, you're right. They were all fair hitters, but compare them 2 many of their contemporaries, that's when I begin 2 view them as lighter hitters.
Well, I realize that this will be hotly contested by some, but I have always thought LaMotta and Graziano hit harder than Robinson, and Basilio and Fullmer as well. I think Robbie carried his power better w/ speed and precision, but in the film it just appears 2 me that the others carry more umph in their shots than Robbie did.
3 of the best brawlers in history were ...Dick Tiger ...Kif Gavilan...and Benny Paret ...none of whom were big punchers .....it seems like it’s better to be durable with fast hands
