Good addition to the division. Has power in both hands uppercuts, hooks, you name it. He does not have a jab. Hes a tall guy that does more inside work, that's a rare thing to see. It will help him and backfire him at the same time. I think his performance vs nistor showed flaws in what the bigger heavies can possible do to him. However nistor is no slouch himself. Joyce however i do not see joyce fighting him next. He needs to prove himself to get a fight vs a top 15 heavyweight. On his flaws. He is slow and very upright. No jab. He does not look very flashy nor fast. Stiff and robotic. Defensivit On his perfection . good inside fighter. Uppercut , hook, you name it. He has power from all angles. Decent chin. Decent footwork. Hopefully we get to see him step in competition in the next 1-2 years preferably a top 15. Im a fan to all boxers and expect to see him fight win or lose.. Exciting addition to the heavy weight division. One boxer i will keep a close eye on.
I saw it reported that he was after Joyce, but I don't think it'll happen. Can't see the risk/reward equation working for Joyce. Good fight tho.
You won't have a hard tome finding freeze-frame images from a Joyce-Mak fight video. All kidding aside, I find it odd some are suggesting Mak might be too slow vs. certain HWs. Joyce clearly showed his slow robotic style didn't keep him from stopping the favored DD. I think there are many top 20 and some top 10 HWs Mak could defeat right now. He does need to work on his jab and footwork. But as others have noted, his power, strength, and good chin can take him far in the HW division.
Zero in it for Joyce not going to happen. Has no profile and is dangerous. Joyce is on the cusp of a world title shot and a number of million pounds in his next fight. If he fights again before it will be a tick over
Makhmudov is very fun to watch, but not that skilled -- he hits hard enough it seems. I don't see him going that far unfortunately. I don't see the Joyce fight coming to fruition, but I hope Makhmudov does face someone decent soon. I'm glad he's calling out some like Joyce rather than AJ or Fury -- that would undeniably just be bull****.
