Castillo barely got the best of Stevie Johnston. He wasn't superman. Teo also has much better physicality at 135 than Chico did.
Need to see more fights from Loma. Hard to tell since most of his most important fights are ahead of him.
I know exactly who Stevie was. He would be behind Teo, Davis, Haney, Lomachenko, and Garcia at minimum, but he might expose a few shortcomings in some of them (while ultimately losing).
Hes not behind Temo,Davis or anybody on that list. He was way more accomplished then they are. He fought and beat Sharmba Mitchell in nearly his FIRST YEAR. Held Castillo to a draw second time around and beat Manfredy.
He was more accomplished than Teo and Loma....Alright dude, you can have that one. Sharmba was nobody back then btw.
Nobody wanted to fight Sharmba back then. He couldn't really get any fights. Fast, slick smooth southpaw. The late Levander Johnson fought him and was being outboxed pretty bad until landing the knockout punch in I think it was either the 9th or 10th round. The Johnston fight was suppose to be a rebuilding fight for Mitchell. But Stevie suprised them. Lets also remember Sharmba didn't lose a fight for like FIVE years after that. Stevie also took out Johnson when Johnson was getting alot of attention out of Detriot.
You’re hyping a dude who was just knocked out by Levander and never won a big fight at 135. Sharmba at 135 was waaay below Commey.
Johnson was a very good boxer who became champion. Commey would get soundly outboxed by Mitchell. Mitchell became a two time champion as well. Only a run in vs the great KT derailed him from being champ for an extended time.
He’s still a bit unproven but I really like Teo’s chances. He’s far more talented physically, and he has highly-underrated skills and ring smarts.
