What I mean is they are probably a couple of career defining fights away from ATG status. I have no doubts the should both end up as ATGs as there are good fights for both of them in the next 5 years. But they ain't anywhere near yet.

You regard Wilder, AJ and Klitschko elite? Just because they are or were at the top of the division doesn't mean they are elite? Not when you have Loma, Usyk and Crawford walking the earth. Unless your speaking for the heavyweight division solely.

What is the definition of elite that Wlad doesn't qualify, or are we just talking about old Wlad (who I would still argue would still be a quality win on any resume)?

AJ we can say isn't full cooked, Wilder is who he is, but Wlad?

I get where you are coming from here, and yes title defenses would add to anyone's legacy especially if they are looking to achieve ATG status. It is not a must have however. Fury could drop his belts and beat Joshua, refuse sanctioning fees and beat Usyk, get stripped and then defeat Hrgovic etc etc and still be an ATG. Defenses are nice, but they certainly are not must have criteria to be looked at as one of the best ever. Especially in this day and age where belts are becoming less and less credible as the days go on.

I'm not questioning weather the Vlad win was quality, but compared to Crawford, Lomachenko and Golovkin at the time, I can't put a 40 year old Vlad in the same group. Was Vlad solid, yes, elite, no.

Tyson Fury has become the biggest hype job in this forum since he's knocked out Wilder.

I mean currently. Who are better than Joshua and Wilder currently? I'd wager Wilder to KO just about anyone.

You're saying wilder can KO just about anyone but based on what ? His best win is luis ortiz which is a notable win but he struggled HEAVILY in both fights and he almost got stopped in the first fight if i remember correctly. Luis Ortiz is also a southpaw so he's more susceptible to right hand that an orthodox fighter. Theres no guerentee he beats the likes of Parker, Whyte, Ruiz etc

Laughs in Francesco Pianeta, Tom Schwarz and Otto Wallin; who would have stopped Fury on cuts if there wasn’t a ton of money tied up in Fury vs Wilder 2.

Fury hasn’t made a single defense of any title and needed nineteen rounds to finish off a guy most of us agree can’t box. I’m not saying he’s not great, he is, but maybe Fury doesn’t belong on the high pedestal quite yet.

Let’s wait and see him do some of the things he should have already done after beating Wlad, like fight the best, defend a title... as opposed to what he actually did.... which was cocaine.

    Lots of cocaine.

Perhaps I place too much infasis on skill and ability on the term elite. I consider an elite fighter on more than his ability to knock people out. I consider skill set, longevity and level of opposition. Not that you're wrong in your assessment of elite, just different than mine.
