Hearing he has sadly passed away.

I heard he was in a bad way 2 years ago but so sad to hear news like this of someone only 40.

Was in some good fights, especially Ady Lewis but also had bigger battles outside the ring.

His life had been an absolute mess for some time by the sounds of things, once a sportsman starts doing crack that's it, sadly.

    Really sad news
Spencer Fearon and Tunde Ajayi have done a good 2 hour pod cast on mental health in boxing in the last couple of days . It is really worth taking some time to veiw it on Youtube The sport does not do enough for its heroes

Very sad news indeed but please don't make everyone feel worse by having to listen to Tunde and Spencer !

I don't think listening to Fearon and Ajayi will do anybody's mental health any good whatsoever.

I remember watching Nicky Booth and his brother on Sky in the early 2000's a fair bit.

Tragic stuff. Came across an Instagram page run by his other half and it was a pretty grim insight in to their lives.

Beyond the glitz, glamour and banter that boxing seems to be at the highest level in this country, it can be quite easy to put to one side the difficulties and struggles that many working class fighters get in to once choices and circumstances take a wrong turn.

    R.I.P.

Very tough young man. He left his mark on the boxing scene. I used to enjoy watching the Booths box. God bless.

Very sad news. He was a very good wee fighter who unfortunately could not beat his demons outside the ring. RIP Nicky.
