    Briscoe
    Griffith
    Valdez
    Benvenuti
    Napoles (I realize, welterweight)

Like already mentioned, Ezzard Charles has great wins, also Archie Moore. From the old fighters also Harry Greb and Sam Langford. Langford has beaten e.g. Joe Gans, Kid Norfolk, Stanley Ketchel, Jack Blackburn, Harry Wills, Sam McVey, Joe Jeanette, Fred Fulton and many more.

Some strong wins has also Sugar Ray Leonard (Benitez, Duran, Hearns and Hagler). His career was just a bit short, compare to some great old fighters.

    Duran

And surely Ali would be top of the list head to head, rather than pound for pound?

Leonard for me. Off the top of my head I can't even think of anyone who's close actually.

Many great fighters with great opposition. Certainly Ali, having fought Liston, Foreman, Frazier, Norton and many others.

Leonard fought Hearns, Duran, Benitez and Kalule in a short span then later Hagler. Maybe would have been additional impressive opponents if not for the detached retina and layoffs.

Not saying those are the top 2 by any means. Just what came to my mind. Of course Ray Robinson would be on the list.

You missed the Welters off Robinson's record. Among them, (I don't have his record to hand), are Henry Armstrong and Fritzie Zivic.

The OP did actually nominate Michael Spinks for his work at 175 as opposed to Heavyweight.

Charles has one of the best resumes of all time of course. George whacked up the first two i thought of.

Greb, Armstrong, and McLarnin each hold wins over 7 different fighters in my top 100. Robinson and Charles hold wins over 6.

Robinson holds 14 total wins over his 6 opponents, while Charles holds 13. Greb has 11 over his 7 opponents.

Jack Britton also holds 14 total wins against fighters in my top 100, albeit against just 3 different men.
