I disagree! I think he is vastly underrated. In real life he lost to only the 2 best fighters of the era. I am one who may overrate him somewhat.

I am of the mind that only the very best/elite are going to beat him. Others see him losing to nearly every very good fighter he gets listed against. It’s arbitrary and unprovable and perhaps reality lies somewhere between the 2?

sounds like Gene Fuller...perhaps we should negate everything he did as well.

I noticed that after the highlight reel KO of Maussa that he seemed to fall in love with the leaping left hook. Now there are a bunch of pre-Tszyu fights that I haven’t seen so maybe he did it back then too, but I don’t recall him doing it in the fights I saw.

He got knocked face first into the ring post when threw that leaping left hook against Mayweather. He did it again against Lazcano and got hurt with a left hook doing it, even getting some extra recovery time when his shoelaces got untied. He did it against Malignaggi and got caught again, but fortunately for him, Paulie lacked power. Then he tried it in the first round Pacquiao and got face planted with a right hook.

He didn’t land one significant punch v Mayweather besides that early left hand

Not ONE punch. And his chin was insane that night

I think most welters with a hard punch would have beaten him because of his style, he wasn`t powerful enough at welter to fight that way against a power puncher.

Floyd schooled him and he walking right in adding power to hooks as he charged in.

Fullmer use the reverse cross arm defense very well and had a powerful right hand,Hatton lacked that kind of power at welter.

Hatton only ever had one bad fight where he was totally outclassed.
He beat some good opposition and had to fight Cortez as well as Mayweather, the Mayweather fight doesn't detract too much from Ricky''s legacy for me.
He' s a level or two below being an Atg but he doesn't deserve some of the hate he gets.

Someone mentioned Fullmer and another person stated Hatton was in the ring P4P ratings until Manny blew him away, another person said Floyd didn`t legitamately knockout Hatton but I don`t believe Hatton could take a solid welter shot flush.

Manny and Floyd proved they were a level above Hatton.

One bad fight? He clearly lost to Collazo and looked mighty poor against Lazcano and Senchenko.

Had to feel for Ricky when he claimed he was beating Pacquaio “by a country mile”. That’s ill.

“I have a chance to prove what I believe and that is that I’m the best pound-for-pound fighter walking the face of the planet,”

    No, Ricky
