Maybe 2 or 3 years earlier and POSSIBLY at 147 instead of at MW. IMO Hearns was never the same after the loss to Hagler. If Tommys fight with Dewitt happened before the Hagler fight does it still go 12 rounds? Does Dewitt really still give Tommy a hard time?

I was pretty suprised at the time to see this fight.tommy still looked ripped and fast but dewitt seemed to take all his shots without blinking and was throwing back fast shots himself thsts my recollection as a 10 year old boy.

Im going to rewatch this fight than post

Dewitt didnt fight at 147. Hearns could have met him at 160 in 1984 as he had fought at 160 as early as 1982.

It would have been the same result most likely.
Numerous guys took Hearns the distance at 160 lbs before the Hagler fight. There is no indication DeWitt wouldn't have been able to do so.

Hearns most brutal ko at 160 occured AFTER the Hagler fight - against James Shuler who wasn't nearly as durable ad DeWitt.

Except for the Quinones abberatipn DeWitt showed a rock solid jaw.
