Only decent card is the Okolie v Glowacki one. Warrington & Fowler fights are a farce. Hearn needs a refresh of his stable if im honest, too many fighters that are in constant tune ups and dont get tested. Time to get rid of some deadwood and focus on the up and coming fighters. People like Fowler, Warrington, Billy Joe etc are stale at this point
Current situation: BBBoC has banned all boxing until mid feb. Boxing to return but with no crowds and bubbles. Eddie Hearn announces new shows coming. Boxing Fans: “moan moan moan, Warrington opponent it should have been Xu or someone else”. Situation: NO Crowds. Not much funds for shows. Unless it’s PPV. Boxing Fan: Well I want the unification with Xu even though there’s no fans and there’s not a chance I’m buying a PPV. ^^ This is the current situation and not just with Warrington, with loads of fighters. The money is simply not there at the minute, Sky and BT have minuscule boxing budgets and rely on PPV. These shows are thrown together on a budget with no crowds. There’s some decent fights there. Some of them are poor but what do you expecting with no money, travel bans, bubbles, quarantines etc etc. No promoter should be getting stick from anyone for putting together any sort of show in the current domestic climate. It’s going to be a pretty shitty 12 months or so more for all promoters, fighters and fans and we just need to accept it.
Is Xu even a unification? The old be greatful line, love it. Would much prefer they cut the amount of fights in half or even thirds and pay for a couple more decent fights. No boxing fan wants to watch some of this shite.
Lots of these fighters don't want to fight a competitive fight, or either their managers don't want them to risk a loss. Why did Fowler withdraw from the purse bid to fight Kieran Smith and fight a Spanish bum instead?
I get that but why should we always pay for shite? Especially in times like this when money is getting tighter for many people? So we are just supporting shite because a boxer won't face a decent opponent for less than silly money? Not in any other sport do the competitors give so little but expect so much.
Believe it or not, after all that shite Fowler was spouting on Twitter, he tested positive for Covid-19. Hopefully the symptoms aren't too hard on him and his fight can be rescheduled. Robbie Davies replaces him on the card.
Was going to say it seemed a ludicrous price. Yeah that is a brilliant fight. Hope that is on with Zelfa Barrett. Will probably only watch them tow
Kiko getting wheeled out with the hope of him becoming a name to boost Barrets profile, if it goes the way of the Ronnie fight his career is going to be looking a lot less promising.
Lara's fought mostly feather duster fighters and the ones he has fought, aren't exactly standout by any means. Surely a reason he's fought fighters with low KO %.
