Who are some of your picks for the most saltiest (Bitter) boxers post retirement? Some of mine, Larry Holmes, Marvin Hagler, Mike McCallum, Joe Frazier (Towards Ali)
It’s almost as if Hagler thinks that if he ever said anything nice about Sugar Ray Leonard...it would be admitting he lost ...or hurt his legacy
Hagler, in his “Best I faced” most of his comments where back handed comments about his “cowardice” saying he ran and was just trying to survive.
Henry Cooper. The ripped glove against Ali, getting knocked out because "the sun was in my eyes" against Johansson, moaning all the way to his grave about how he was 'robbed' against Bugner and, by his own admission, not talking to Harry Gibbs again for well over twenty years afterwards because of the verdict. You name it, he whined about it. Barrera is another one who always struggled to give credit to anyone who beat him, and liked a good excuse or two.
Carlos Zarate was so disgusted after losing the controversial fight with Lupe Pintor ... that he quit boxing for 7 years
Glenn Johnson after he lost to Chad Dawson ...with that epic post fight interview ...”Even he should protest it “
Haglar, I guess. But I don't say that in a negative way, cause there is some reason to his claims. -------------------------- Holmes is my pick for saltiest after a loss(not retirement), that interview after the loss to Spinks makes me bust a gut every time I listen to it! Worth the loss, in my opinion just to have that interview.
i recently spoke to a fighter who completely ripped the back out of another, more accomplished fighter ( 1 had a decent career, 1 had an relatively outstanding career) yet ive seen them photographed together as 'good' friends. Apparently, according to guys involved in the game have told me, its not as uncommon as you'd think
LaMotta. Just so miserable and rude Froch never has a nice thing to say Wilder. The I want to kill someone in the ring crap he was spewing
