Usyk Vs Joyce for the WBO interim title...a fair solution.

Frank Warren mentioned today that there were talks for Usyk to fight Joyce for the WBO interim championship, thus clearing the way for Fury and Joshua.

I think this is very fair. It will allow Fury and Joshua to announce a first time ever four belt titlist, but, if they want to do the rematch, which of course could become a trilogy, then the winner of Joyce-Usyk will be elevated to the status of WBO champion. We all want to see a unified champ crowned, but guys like Joyce and Usyk, who are already advanced in years, cannot be asked to wait forever while another pointless rematch clause and possible rubber-match play out.

I think it is a good solution to get Usyk out of the way, but guarantee that his spot as mandatory will be honored in a reasonable amount of time, provided of course the he beats Joyce, who has earned his #2 spot.

You know what? i actually like it...
It will be a great feather in the cap of Joyce.

And if Usyk stands up and fights him like a man, not how he fought chisora, but if he actually dukes it out and wins, i will come up on here and give him his props

    I would call that fantastic.

Actually, it's too good, therefore it won't happen.

Why would Usyk change his style against a guy he already beat with his current style.

Not from Usyk's perspective. He has a mandatory fight against the Fury/Joshua winner, as stupid as that might seem. He is unlikely to risk that for some interim title.

I prefer Usyk versus Joshua first. Then Usyk versus Fury. This way Hearn-AJ-Matchroom lose an ungodly amount of money.

    Why interim though?
So they don't have to strip Joshua, and get sanctioning fees from both fights?

Don't forget that no one had a problem with Terry Crawford walking into not one but two world title fights in his debut at the higher weights after moving up from 135 and 140 respectively. After relinquishing his WBO 135 strap his next fight was for the vacant WBO 140 strap against Dulorme and after relinquishing that one his next fight was a crack at Jeff Horn's WBO 147 strap, and unlike fearless road warrior Usyk who has won and defended all his belts in his opponent's backyards and is chomping at the bit to fight AJ for his belts in his, Crawford made the champ Horn come to his and calls for a rematch from Horn over in Oz fell on deaf ears from him.

Usyk has been the official WBO mandatory challenger for at least 18 months, whereas Crawford received his title shots at 140 and 148 just 5 and 10 months after relinquishing his belts at the weights below and, as said, in both instances it was his first fights at the weight after moving up.

Usyk tries to invoke the WBO's Super Champ rule once after having two fights at HW and many are up in arms about it, whereas Crawford does it twice after having zero fights at the new weight after moving up and not so much as a peep from anyone about it. Hmmm..

Usyk will have been the official WBO mandatory challenger for two years when AJ and Fury square off with each other and even if they don't have a rematch which is written into the contract and they very likely will Usyk he will have to wait until late 2021 early 2022 for his shot and will have had three fights at the new weight compared to Crawford's zero at two weights.

Therefore A.J had fights with supposedly easily beatable Ruiz with casual clauses and then vuala, truth had happened and 39 y.o Pulev appeared to be enough old now to be his mandatory.
Ofc 30-32 y.o Usyk's versions were different than Usyk now.

Fighter's origin matters almost every thing in his judgement in forums and YT comments.
    Sad reality.

I mean obv what I want is fury vs aj first then winner defending against winner of Usyk joyce but Usyk would really be taking a high risk low reward path. Will respect him if he does it but people act like there's some benefit to Usyk to waiting when I think Usyk probably realizes that he has a much better chance getting to be a hw world champ fighting either joyce or aj then waiting for fury to have all the titles.

Well, A.J already had supposedly easy tittle defense vs Ruiz I and repetition with Ruiz II fight now they offered to us to see 39 y.o Pulev vs A.J not Usyk vs A.J. Boring.
Pulev they should gave A.J to fight with 1-2 years earlier. More interesting to watch.

Where these boxing orgs belts are? Some rules they does have.
Okey, they might fight without belts, still might be cool if younger lads there, close in rankings and their prime.

Usyk will ud him 120-108 and therefore he should get his props. Not to fight like a moron and stand in front of joyce.

Yep only people it really suits is the WBO as they get to milk both fights for a sanctioning fee.

Usyk isn't going to just settle for a interim belt, lets be honest interim belts are BS unless they get upgraded to full championship status which may never happen if Joshua isn't stripped of the full WBO title. So Usyk will still needs to fight Joshu/Fury winner to become a real champion after forking out a fee for some dumb interim title fight.

I can't lie I feel bad for Usyk.

He deserves his shot for the full Title next. Either he fights Joshua next or Joshua has to vacate the belt and Usyk and Joyce fight for the full World Title.
