Lost respect, only Whyte comes to mind for boxing reasons, followed by Wilder. Plenty previously mentioned for separate reasons like Kovalev and Paulie.
Wilder.. That is part of somethinghe excuses. Excuses make me lose respect for people because it takes away from the winner. If we took the excuses of all fighters no fighter would get credit for a win. Even one of my favorite fighters, if not my favorite Tommy Hearns. That excuse about his legs being weak or weighing too low for Leonard means nothing to me. It sounds unfair but with Ray whose fault was that? If he overtrained then he still lost. If Tommy overtrained then he went too far and that is part of being a fighter and knowing your body. And with Hagler? Letting a guy massage his legs? That was such a big issue that Emanuel never told him don't get a leg massage before a fight? And he has one before one of the biggest fights of his life? I don't buy it. I cannot believe he lost a fight because he had some guy massage his legs. Marvin was motivated that night. The hand breaking was significant because Tommy broke his hand and couldn't use it after a minute or so. But, Marvin was so motivated that night and Tommy made the mistake of getting him mad and motivating him more. I don't think Marvin was ever that motivated and pumped up. I don't know if anyone could have beaten him at that time. He wanted all the glory, and he got it after that fight. Leonard knew that in 1987 Marvin didn't have that full motivation anymore.
Tommy never made that excuse about his legs he just asked for a rematch. It was Manny Steward who made the excuses.
Kovalev is not bad lad and what from this that he didn't had won shenangian? Whyte: I seriously think Povetkin had damaged his brains permanently to the some extent. Didn't had noticed much from Whyte until this last stuff. Of course, for Povetkin more safe was to fight rematch asap with recently concussed Whyte while he didn't had time at least month- 2 months to relax and then start prep for next fight. Rematch delay there definitely is playing only and exclusively as good thing for Whyte not Povetkin. Not alone because recently concussed Whyte, also because in age from 38 and more for sure even for HW each month matters a lot. Unlike for Whyte.
That's karma. Roy spent his prime years regularly humiliating and mocking opponents during the fight. Bernard Hopkins - "I'll never lose to a white boy"
Adrien Broner another sell out he thinks his fights should be pay per view drops down to 140 but won't fight any champions but he has about 6 kids.
What about Canelo? He delayed and waited until GGG was past his prime to fight him. Canelo is an exceptional boxer, but refuses to box guys without gaining a significant advantage in the form of fighting guys post prime, at a weight advantageous to Canelo or setting up matches where his opponent gets short notice, short training camps.
