Prior to Lennox coming on to the scene, we Brits had an obsession with winning the heavyweight belt. Other division s we seemed ok in but the top one!!
Then Lewis came in and suddenly our country seemed to produce world class contenders and champs. Tis a strange thing..

Adamek would’ve been champ in a lot of eras.

The version of Adamek that fought for the title I don't think so

In which era do you feel Golota could have snatched a title OR would the mental state be too weak in every era?

Are you saying that pre-Lewis, British heavyweights were a laughing stalk of boxing?

If the peak version of Adamek was at crusier, he would've counted as a full sized heavyweight for most of boxing history. I don't believe the heavyweight version actually was worse though. He just had to compete with Vitali Klitschko.

He could have potentially snagged a belt for a fight or two in the era in between Holmes and Tyson. And, he would have had a chance from the end of Wlad's reign until now.

Very interesting, I didn't think of this perspective. Does that mean you feel Golota, McCline, and Botha who each challenged for a heavyweight title a record four times apiece should not be disappointed, is being a record 4-time HW challenger a reason to be proud?

Most boxers never get near fighting for a world title. Guys like them are good enough to get a shot but there's something they lack that keeps them back.
