Joe Laws is nothing special- and that's being very kind to him. Never been remotely impressed watching him. He's an English title level fighter generally speaking, who with the right fight and and a lot of luck may go slightly beyond that but no further. He was signed up by Matchroom as ticket seller because he has a big mouth, the idea being that he will prop up a Newcastle card which Kelly or Ritson would headline. He was never even in the 'prospect' camp with the likes of the former Olympians and various others signed post 2016 as his ceiling was always quite clear. His interviews are embarrassing to watch. It's one thing having a sense of humor but he sounds and acts like a 12 year old. The only saving grace is that when he (inevitably) gets beat again it will be very satisfying to watch.
No idea where he goes from here, from calling out Haney to losing on points to a 4-27 journeyman, it's over before it ever really begun.
All the ingredients of an absolute disaster waiting to happen, he's clearly unhinged and was riding a wave of hype that crashed into the fists of Rylan Charlton, a part time boxer and around about area level fighter. Got back on his board, had a couple of knockover jobs, badly misjudged a third knockover job and lost, the board is snapped in half.
This content is protected And meanwhile back on planet Earth, Devin Haney is about to fight Kambosos Jnr for a very rare undisputed crown, while Laws just lost to a 4-27 journeyman.
