ruddock would stop coetzer quicker then bowe .....coetzer just has no power and does not move his head (nothing) but hes a tuff dude but donovan ruddock would stop peirre quicker then bowe .....i honestly cant believe u think coetzer would beat ruddock ...ummm wow
Its crazy isnt it..the writers of the time were writing him off...but george really was just getting warmed up in 87-88-89. Georges flush shots wouldve felt different to tysons. I cant remember which guy it was who compared being hit by both George and Mike...? But he said Mike was a sharper puncher but george a harder and thudding puncher
Foreman was totally gassed. It was like 90 degrees, and Foreman's stamina after 5 is crap anyway. But he didn't go down from one punch from Young, it was a flurry. Anyway, I was referring 2 the three Ali/ Lyle knockdowns when I said that. My fault 4 not clarifying that point.
Holyfield is the only fighter that could be, unless you're referring 2 some low-level bum they both fought, like Sekorski or Savarese or someone like that.
It wasnt holyfield...my gut instinct is it was some nickle and dime bum used to being smacked around...which is why i paid such high credence to the view.... Actually yes yes... i recall it was a higher quality operator like savarese...yes it was him
@Jamal Perkins Isn´t is possible to edit a poll to the thread still existing? This is about the 90s version, who´s best KO-tricks were Rodriques (three stopppages prior under 5 rounds) and Cooney (lets leave it like that...) in two, the 222lb HW version of Qawi in 7 and 8 rounds Coetzer (who took two beatings from Bruno and Bowe prior), 10 rounds Moorer. The remaining six quality bouts (excluding Holyfield) all took the distance in 70 rounds, Stewart down in round 2 but survived and made it hell close. To be honest, his chances of stopping Ruddock aren´t terribly high to say at least. Foreman solid chin too. They´d have to fight it out long I guess.
tbh I think he beats them all except possibly Mercer. Moorer and Stewart would be brutal especially the former.
*Sigh* Cobra..... Don´t you think you took that one too far also? With George one tier higher than two and half fighters he lost to, and two tiers higher than a fighter he tied with ?
@GOAT Primo Carnera Seeing that Foreman captured Olympic Gold, let me please ask you this: would you rather be a 3-time Olympic Gold Medalist & never turn pro OR be a 4-time heavyweight world title challenger but never win it?
I´d say I´d rather see Foreman rebuilding himself after Ali, adepting his style of boxing/punch output to beat Jimmy Young, battle Larry Holmes and eventually meet Tim Witherspoon at the age of 34. He certainly was part of making the 90s devision individually "refreshing", but the early 80s might have needed him a little more.
