it wasnt a unification fight though was it ffs agendas pushed hard round theses parts ive got a holiday abroad for you few grand like youll like wales
I don't care what the plans are for Warrington. If any other fighter dropped their title to avoid a mandatory it would be called a duck.
To be fair, Galahad is a drug cheat so I couldn't give a **** if he gets frozen out. I'd rather see Warrington try it on with some of the big names abroad - think the Stevenson fight would be brilliant. Not arsed if Barry wins the IBF against a shepherd in a leisure centre, I won't be watching.
Fact is there's a massive question mark over Josh after that first fight with KG. I think he narrowly lost that fight and won thanks to the time honoured tradition of giving the champion an extra couple of rounds just cause he's a good lad and we'll all make more cash that way. Others may disagree, but taking the mandatory would've been a great way to silence the doubters. I don't really care what the spin is on this. They do whatever they want to do then silver tongue Eddie will add his sheen to it. I just find each time these things happen that my interest in that fighter drops somewhat and my overall love for the sport takes a hit. Very, poor, very poor indeed.
Everyone is in agreement with this. He's been banging on about it for long enough but the reality is he hand-picked an easy defence, didn't defend for over 15 months, then refuses to fight his mandatory whilst lining up another easy fight.
Surely Hearn has something planned in the background? If it's just for Xu's regular title then it's a disaster. I've got a feeling this is going to go Pete Tong for Warrington. Can't blame him going to Hearn, couldn't of predicted a pandemic sabotaging crowds, which was the whole draw with Warrington. Hearn has to shoulder some of the blame though for allowing this situation.
What on Earth are you talking about? It wouldn't be a unification fight now, but if they managed to land the fight this month, the IBF and WBA 'Regular' titles would've both been on the line - hence, a unification bout.
You'd have to think he has a plan, how much is left after covid is another story. I think though part of the plan is keeping Josh as far away from KG as possible. There's no money in the fight, it won't look good or appeal to the casual fan and if Terry O' Connor isn't available that day there's a chance that the train crashes in a big way... The problem is saying he's dropping the title to pursue WBA third best 'world' title just makes him look rubbish, especially when they start waxing lyrical about how they love the colours on it
This is a blatant duck. I really rate Warrington and enjoy watching him fight, I get he wants to chase big fights but he knows fine well he got the decision by the skin of his teeth, now KG is back in a mandatory spot he vacates.....
Yep blatant duck. not surprised though Galahad is underrated and crafty he would give anyone a tough night.
https://boxing-social.com/news/galahad-on-the-brink-of-multi-fight-deal-with-pbc/ I cannot stand Barry. But Eddie trying to explain to Josh and his Dad why the IBF belt is in unification fights, but with Barry Awad!
Great move for Galahad if he goes over to PBC, few at 122-130, could move up as an opponent. Will be interesting.
