Wlad got knocked out by Ross Puritty. (LOL) Wlad got knocked out by Lamon Brewster.

That's the difference. Every heavyweight champ fights questionable opposition at points in time. They don't all get knocked out by them.

Wlad was great. Lewis was great. Joshua is great, too. But Wilder knocked out all his Ross Purrittys and Oliver McCalls and Lamon Brewsters and Andy Ruizs. He didn't lose to them.

And anyone who says Joshua's title reign completely sh... on Wilder's loses all credibitlity.

The Joshua-Fury fights will be the biggest in Joshua's career because he is the best guy Joshua will have ever fought. Wilder's already defended his title against Fury TWICE. Joshua has defended against NO ONE as good as Fury. Wlad wasn't. Povetkin wasn't. Both Wilder and Joshua defended against Breazeale and Molina. Wilder fought Ortiz twice. Joshua fought Parker and Povetkin, who are no better. That leaves Takam. How does Joshua's defenses **** on Wilder's in any way?

I often think if Wilder had lost to some punk like Ross Puritty early on, you guys would treat him better.

I always thought beating the guys you were SUPPOSED to beat was better than getting knocked out by them. Who knew?

Ortiz definetely a better counterpuncher than joshua. You do realise the cuban style is basically built on counterpunching. Its a flawed style. But in terms of just counterpunching ortiz is far better at it than joshua will ever be.

Fury can punch going every which way. Go watch joshua fight pulev the first round. Fury can dictate distance with the jab. Joshuas jabs basically a point scoring jab. Its a good enough jab but hes static with it. Look at fury hes moving forward as he punches. Thats what the difference is. Joshua stands where he is and jabs. Its allright when you,ve got pulev on the end of it but it,ll make you a sitting duck with wilder. Fury has great movement...joshua simply doesnt. It comes naturally to fury...wilder swings big and fury moves back...it nutrelised it. Joshua goes backwards too slowly to do the same. He doesnt have the natural timing for it.

He,ll stand his ground...he doesnt really go forward attacking till he hurts someone. He mainly tries to get the centre of the ring and dictate. Thats a danger zone against wilder if your static with it. Fury done it but fury can move forward and backwards quickly and very very well. He can also punch doing it.

Joshua doesnt back people up with his jab. He stands in the centre and throws it to point score...to keep the opponent away...to hurt the opponent etc. His big problem against wilder is hes statically sitting there tho. He cant get out quick enough either. One of them big right hands from wilder will get off on him.

Flawed style ?? You seem biased. Joshua is a better counter puncher. He pulled off a pull counter against a jab from pulev. Didn't pulev outjab Klitschko and Hughie Fury ? And he doesn't need to back wilder up with a jab, he moved forward against Joseph Parker who is a better inside fighter than Wilder.

You're making the mistake every person makes. "Joshuas too upright and slow for wilder to back up" why would he back up ? Giving Wilder more room to move around and get comfortable. You dont need to be fury to back Wilder up, multiple opponents have backed wilder up and outjabbed him. Fury just did it because the jab is his most affective weapon. Did you ever notice how Fury nipped Wilder in the clinches with an uppercut ? Well if Aj uppercuts Wilder its game over. soon as joshua gets on the inside he'd have Wilder out of there unlike Fury.

Joshua is robotic but he's can throw quick combinations. He's definitely above dinosaur Ortiz, someone wilder almost lost agaisnt.

Thread should be renamed - Controversial opinion: Wilder isn't a top 10 heavyweight.
    Would be more realistic.

The original premise (Wilder not in top three) might be true. He certainly has the power to KO a bunch of guys in the top 10. But due to his lack of skills, it is also possible he gets beaten by someone not even in the top 10.

For now, I rate him #3 behind Joshua and Fury. Really, he needs to stop talking and start fighting. Then we'll see what his prospects really are.

The flawed style was regarding ortiz,s style. His style is based on counterpunching. The cuban style is a counterpunching style. if you go forward trying to punch ortiz you,ll find out quickly hes a better counterpuncher than joshua. His whole style is trying to entice you in so he can make you pay for it. The problem is guys have got wise to it...they can nutrealise the style with movement...slowing down their output etc. But in terms of pure counterpunching ortiz is better than joshua will ever be.

Joshua did go forward against parker...parker looked intent on the outside tbh. The problem is never about backing wilder up tho...his tactics actually encourage you to back him up or get you following him. Wilder moves quicker than joshua does. When joshua moves forward to back him up wilder will move away quicker. Wilders tactics are to create distance...we all agree about that. Fury punched going forward...backing him up. Joshua will try to back him up with his feet before punching statically. Thats the big difference. I cant see joshua not taking one of them big right hands unless he learns the impossible and starts punching on the move. Hes not great at it. His stamina wont keep that up all night either.

Seriously? Joshua can move in and out of range much better than wilder. His footwork is much better than wilders. And Ortiz counterpunches more but he's not better. Haven't seen Ortiz do a pull counter against someone with one of the best jabs in the division.

And no, parker tried to get on the inside multiple times but joshua clinched every time to cancel out his offense. He wasn't looking to stay on outside

Anthony Joshua lost, he wanted to go home, next day he was glad he was home...he didn't want to get hurt further more by Andy Ruiz
Anthony Joshua is very relatable to the average life-loving peasant who want to stick-around do peasant things...

Deontay Wilder fights every fight, to defend his Crown and everything...with his life and the life of his opponent as acceptable collateral damage...he knew all he needed was to land one right hand and Tyson Fury will be flattened again in a dramatic KO win, he has every reason to believe that because he is the hardest puncher that ever walked Earth and he put Tyson Fury down for a long count previously...So he felt deeply betrayed by the people who stopped the fight, because they were not on the same level of commitment to the cause (ATG legacy) Wilder was in.

Wlad had heart getting up, Wilder would obviously stop both....Wlad would have been able to stop both, if he had better Stamina

Emanuel Steward said it was proven that Wlad was drugged when he fought Puritty.

AJ fought top guys, Wilder was too scared to fight guys like Klitschko and Povetkin. AJ is cut from a different cloth.

the same level of commitment to the cause of ATG legacy?

you say that after 40 fights, 40 wins and only Ortiz to that point?

thats not commitment to being a ATG legacy my friend,,,,

facing Fury was his first real step up and Fury had not looked good in his comeback prior to Wilder finally signing to fight one of the top guys,

the level of commitment Wilder had was taking a abnormally long time (compared to other greats) to step up and face the very top names.

i cant blame him, he wants maximum money for the smallest risks allowed him, smart for him, not so fun for the fans
