This is a really random thread, but it's something I'm curious about. Back when I was training BJJ, I got caught once in a twister before I tapped, the pressure and pain was so immense that it felt as though my spine was being ripped into two pieces. What would be the long term damage if someone was caught in a Twister and they refused to tap? Would it actually paralyze someone and do permanent damage to the spine? I mean, because you have one leg hook that keeps them in place and you're pulling their body in the opposite direction with the hold on their head, you are essentially pulling their spine into two different directions, right?

We know the results of so many different submissions from seeing the damage they do to people in a video recorded street fight or in mma fights where someone refused to tap when they should have. But I don't think there's any recorded evidence of a Twister being taken to it's logical conclusion. What do you guys think?

Many have tapped to the Texas Titty Twister.
