The most dominant round went to Lopez in round 12, that was the round in which Va-SILLY Lose-a-chenko was made to do a funny little dance after being served one too many two-pieces with a side order of fries.

Now, Lopez brings everything and Va-SILLY Lose-a-chenko nothing, except his lame beta excuses.

Lopez has 0 excuse from not taking a rematch from a guy who gave him the opportunity in the first place, the former p4p 1, the bigger star of the 2 and from a very close fight.

    0. by ducking, he knows he got lucky.

I guess I'm in the minority but I for one am against immediate rematches, even for dominant champs, and here's why :

Let's use Fury v Klitschko as an example. Fury beats the long reigning champ, but has to sign for an immediate rematch. The IBF immediately stripped Fury because he wouldn't be able to fulfil his mandatory obligations... This enabled the winner of CHARLES FREAKING MARTIN and VYACHELSAV "WHO DAT" GLAZKOV to become World champion (laughable!) AJ then becomes "champion" in his 16th Pro fight after beating a green Dillian Whyte and what, Gary Cornish? Matt Legg?

Fast forward to Povetkin beating Whyte - Povetkin should now be locked in as mandatory with the WBC, but wait! A-side safety net, sorry old boy, you might have shown next level grit and determination, composure under pressure, will to win, and you may have just thrown the punch of your life but sorry, not good enough - prove you can do it again... If that exact same fight played out the opposite way - AP laying down a beating on DW, DW gets dropped twice, looks done, but then lands a monster shot that one-shots AP - he moves on, no issue

I know it's the way boxing is, but I think immediate rematches cause too many issues

Plus, Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder 3 - how much time was wasted trying to set that up? And the issues are still ongoing because Wilders claiming Fury doesn't want to fulfil the legally obligated rematch and Fury claiming that Wilder allowed the deadline to go past before he started opening his mouth.... A mess!

And then of course fighters (like Loma in this case) feel entitled to an immediate rematch because they were the champ or the A-side or whatever, so we're just supposed to forget that you took half of the fight off? And inciting the fans to get a # going on twitter if they want to see the rematch - why? It wasn't a particularly exciting fight, it wasn't close enough to be controversial, at least let López vs Kambosos Jr play out first because guess what - if not, López can't fulfil mandatory obligations and he'll be stripped, fragmenting the belts again and the alphabet circus keeps on going

People acting like it wasn't close lol.

Loma deserves that shot and it would probably be the fight with the most money in the division since all the other top dogs are ducking them.

Idk man his behavior is more disappointing than Wilder to me. Wilder had began to display traits that foreshadowed his behavior after his lost. Loma was seen as such classy guy and supposedly displayed great sportsmanship. He’s been everything but classy and respectable since the fight, a fight in which HE gave up 6 of the first 7 rds. I don’t want to hear about an injury because had he won, there would have been no mention of his shoulder.

Absolutely how I see it.... It's so obvious Lopez does not want the rematch, but he should! He young, talented and should want to prove a point that the first fight was no fluke or had anything to do with Loma having an off night. Due to Lomas inactivity in the first half of thier fight and how the tides turned later on, there are many many questions Lopez should want to answer.
But he doesn't want to answer those questions.
Which is why he's ducking the rematch, like you said, he knows how the second half of their fight went and now he's scared.

Loma and team were dumb and arrogant for not having rematch clause.
Lopez is taking his ball and going home instead of taking the opportunity to defeat Loma twice and go down in history ... because he's scared of losing, therefore is absolutely a fake persona given he sells himself as a bold, brash, brave young lion etc.

You will never give Teofimo any credit. Lomachenko can be injured and small whenever he wants. In the rematch he’ll be “old.” Same with Mayweather somehow never aging while all of his opponents did! Give me some of Lomachenko’s or Mayweather’s magical secrets!

exactly, Loma gave him a shot and if Lopez is as good as he thinks then a rematch should be just as easy for him but Lopez knows he loses the rematch
