I don't understand the hate Conlon gets. Whilst the IRA entrance rightfully irked a lot people, I don't think he did it in any way other than to come out to Irish music. I may be wrong.

Also, I agree he is limited, but he's fun to watch and I hope he does well. I don't think he'll surpass Frampton's achievements but I think he'll win a title.

 

That ring walk was an insult to all the victims of IRA terrorism glorifying mass murderers who are on the same level as peedos.

Fun to watch?? Couldn't disagree more. His fighting style is boring, he's one paced and can't crack an egg. Which of his fights did you think were fun to watch?

If he gets in the ring with Galahad he's also getting beat.

 

I'm with Jurgs, Conlan might not have intended it that way but have some awareness. There's loads of great music from Ireland that he could have walked out to and remain patriotic. I will say this about him though, I do like it when a boxer has a huge following and draws big and loud crowds, it might be a bit of Stone Island, Carling swigging idiot sucking the last of his low grade Charlie from his nails attitude to have but I think it adds something so I wouldn't mind seeing this train run for a bit longer, long enough for it to derail in front of a massive crowd if it's going to derail.

 

Conlan won a world amateur championship which was fantastic. Always thought he is overrated though.

 

He's got the connections to swerve Galahad I would imagine.

 

It was insensitive but lets be honest he’s not done it purposefully, especially when he’s spoken against the divide in the past. It was a mistake, he’s been bollocked for it, move on.

 

I disagree, he moves around nicely, is aggressive and throws lovely combinations to head and body. I agree his punch power leaves a lot to be desired but he’s certainly not boring to watch.

 

The fighter selects his own ring walk music and he must surely know the sensitivities when making his decision given his background.

People make mistakes and should be allowed to move on, however, I will only believe he regrets this when I hear him publicly oppose terrorism, similar to the Deputy First Minister regularly seen on our news, Michelle O'Neill from the Sinn Fein party.

 

That’s fair. I think he’s made a big mistake but perhaps as I’m not as connected to the situation as others who will take more offence. I don’t know him as a person and don’t know his intentions.

I like him as a boxer though.

Simply don't have time for terrorist scum whatever cause they use to pursue murder.

 

Seen him spar Josh Kelly and Harlem Eubank a few times and overall he’s certainly one of the hardest trainers I’ve seen. Never has a 99% day.. The entire IRA thing left a very bitter taste in my mouth and I’m very surprised an intelligent trainer/manager in Adam Booth didn’t advise him against it.
