Unless the ref allows Ward to use AJ’s ball sack like a speed bag, this fight would be one sided in favor of AJ. I’d be more excited about a return to fight Canelo or Beterbiev. At least Andre would stand a chance. AJ is a decent boxer and Ward would look like a midget next to him.
No, Canelo and Beterbiev are excellent boxers, AJ is as rudimentary is as they come. he only looks good because he's better than most heavyweights, who are by and large God awful. Kovalev, Kessler and Froch are also far better boxers than AJ. The only way AJ wins this is with his size. Which is a very distinct possibility, but he'd have to sell out early.
Froch is not a better boxer than AJ...I haven’t seen enough of Kessler to speak on his boxing skills but I know for a fact Froch isn’t a better boxer than AJ.
People like to talk smack rather then be serious. It's 'cool' to do that. And we know most of the board seems to hate AJ for some reason. AJ pummels Ward. Then again, maybe Ward, with a blind ref, can low-blow his way to a win in this as well.
This is why it's kind of funny when the sentimental old-school types swear that a bunch of old-time heavyweights who were about the same size as Ward would run right through AJ....

froch and kessler are pretty much on par IMO. kessler won a cracking fight in denmark, froch won more clear in england. both were gatekeepers to the true SMW kings (calzaghe for kessler, ward for both).

Fs Ruiz is a 260 lb man that can take a punch and isn’t getting dropped by 190 lb men like Marciano and Dempsey. Also Ruiz had fought 5 weeks before fighting AJ. AJ fought Ruiz on short notice as well, Ruiz didn’t just get off the couch ya know. AJ and Ruiz would smash those little 185 lb men to bits. They have an olden day slugger style as well. You wouldn’t back the best tennis player from the 1940s to beat Nadal and Djokovic would ya. They fought with different gloves in the olden days as well. Game has completely changed.

AJ isn’t a great boxer but he’s good enough to beat Ward. Ward was knocked down by Kov’s jab in the first fight. What do you think he will do when AJ connects with anything? AJ would tower over Ward like a giant, and would have a massive weight advantage. I get it, you hate AJ, I’m not his biggest fan either but he’s a giant and Ward had no power at 175. He is just clout chasing and stroking his own ego. No way Ward gets near a ring with AJ in it, unless he’s working as a semi-competent announcer.
ward's a SMW who moved up to fight kovalev at LHW. i don't get why people are talking about him at HW at all.
