Boxers who used the Muhammad Ali style were!: Muhammad Ali himself, Tyrell Biggs (Extremely smooth when he fought Mike Tyson, awesome to watch dude, Larry Holmes, Darin Allen (Amateur), Anthony Hembrick!
It is acknowledged that Willie Pastrano was an influence on Ali, so I would say that he used the Ali style.
Yeah, I don't think Page took Muhammad Ali's style JBoog. I don't even think Michael Nunn took Ali's style eitther.
Who was that dude who prototyped himself as the next Ali, he fought like him, even looked like him, but then got knocked out brutally, I think it was in the 80s. I can't remember his name it's been bothering me.
I think this is who I was thinking of - Greg Page. He didn't exactly fight like Ali but he was hyped as like the next big star, he had a resemblance to Ali in some ways, but maybe I'm thinking of someone else. I have a clear memory of a fighter after Ali (it wasn't Holmes or Berbick) who was hyped as like the guy to replace Ali as boxing's biggest star and I seem to recall he failed on a big stage I seem to recall him getting knocked out or something. It's a vague memory maybe someone can refresh my memory.
No it wasn't Ron Lyle. I think it was Page but maybe it didn't end in a knockout, maybe it was just knockdowns en route to a losing decision or something. I just remember in one of his fights he was hyped by the commentators as being the man to possibly replace Ali as the best Heavyweight in the world, and he ended up disappointing in one of his big matches where he was being hyped as the next Ali.
